--I am sure that the blacks on the jury will not be a problem.---

I wouldn't be too sure of that. WHile most blacks on juries fulfill their duties many others do not. Black jury nullification is a fairly common problem.

And judging from the comments of one of the black jurors seeing the defendents and saying, "I hate to see a black man go through this" it could well be an ominous sign of where his sympathies lie (i.e with people the defendants who share his skin color not the victims of this horrible crime)

Just wondering where you heard this comment from a jury member. I would think that would be grounds to have that person removed from the jury.

Regarding the "hate crimes" law in Kansas, I heard the DA use that law (lack of) as the reason this crime was not being prosecuted as a "hate crime".

The Judge yesterday called the witness BY NAME as she was leaving the stand. So far she has been referred to only as "HG". I didn't hear her being sworn in to testify so don't know if they used her name, but in any case, thanks to the Judge, I now know her full name as does everyone else who was listening. So much for keeping her name a secret.

I hope there won't be "I'm not gonna send another brother to jail" syndrome.

I have relatives in Wichita. No one there thinks that the black jurors will do any less than render a just verdict. The crime spree, even if it did not cross any racial bar, is so absolutely unbelievably gross, demonic, disgusting, horrific and devastating, that there can be no question of the verdict.

And there is a living witness, who is testifying.

Again, I don't think there will be a problem with the black jurors.
