Democrats Plan Extensive Voter Monitoring
Yahoo.com (Reuters) ^ | Oct. 8, 2002

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic Party leaders said Tuesday they will launch an extensive effort to promote and monitor voters' rights on Election Day and will put "thousands" of lawyers in place to respond to voters' complaints.

After the difficulties in Florida in the 2000 election and during the Sept. 10 primary, Democrats said they will pay special attention to the Sunshine State.

"We are not going to stand on the sidelines while a third Florida election is bungled," said Democratic Party Chairman Terry McAuliffe, who exhibited a new toll-free call line that will allow voters to register problems and have their calls logged with local election officials and party workers.

After the bitter Florida recount battle in the 2000 presidential election, the state spent more than $30 million installing electronic voting and replacing punch-card systems.

But it still experienced widespread problems in September with new voting machines and voters who were turned away from late opening or early closing polling stations.

McAuliffe said the party will have monitors at problem polling sites. He said "thousands" of lawyers would be on notice to respond to complaints so "no one is intimidated into foregoing their rights."

Hawaii where they have a very dead person who cannot be replaced.

She was pretty much dead and on life support when the deadline to leave came. The Democrats thought they could get the sympathy vote for her like they did the other guy. Then they could just pick someone.
She (although dead) was down in the polls.
The Hawaii Democrats plan was failing, so they tried to pull a "Toricelli Switch."
Glad the court didn't fall prey to the corruption.

I believe that Fla. Dept. of State Jim Smith asked Attorney General Ashcroft for Federal Assistance at the polls for the November 5th election. Jim Smith did that a couple of weeks ago... (if they are Ashcroft's subordinates, is that the least bit reassuring?)

I heard this on the radio so there's no url for it.

God help us, these people are overthrowing our form of government before our very eyes.

Are?? Have been -- right before our very eyes.

This isn't the final act by any means, but it's getting closer. Just because you thought you were free...

My take on this is that these 1000s of lawyers are on call. Sort of like a 800 # if you have a complaint! Instant lawyering - all I can say is the Supreme Court judges better be on duty too!

1-800-DNC-WHINE?

1-800-VOTE-RAT?

This sounds like the oppositie strategy of 2000 when they paid a group of callers to call Rat voters to ask if they are sure that they voted for Gore and not Buchanan.

Nothing like those elections where the ballot box comes in hours late.

So we have the head of one of the two major political parties openly alleging voter intimidation as if the United States of America was a banana republic. There is not one shred of evidence that any voters were intimidated in either election.

This is nothing more than a blatant continuation of the Clinton policy of dividing the country at all costs, even if it damages our basic institutions.

It is painfully obvious the the Democratic Party has absolutely nothing useful to offer.

When the Republicans get control of the Senate, our FIRST order of business is reform of the entire legal and justice system:

Appoint judges and justice at all levels who respect the Constitution of the U.S. and the Law;

Reform the entire tort system to cut off the siphoning of funds from our economy to Democrats via the lawyers (i.e. Stan Chesley to Clinton);

Election reform, to make sure only legitimate voters vote, and vote no more than one time.

Perhaps concerned Republican voters could say...maybe...burn the dang 800# lines up to these dem lawyers and register their alarm with regard to the overbearing democratic pole watchers infringing upon the voters and inhibiting their right to exercise the vote?

Not to mention being so darn obnoxious you can't even stand to be in the same room with em,

There are state laws regarding who is allowed in the polling locations. Freepers should phone their SOEs and voice their concerns. SOEs are responsible for a fair and honest election and can be jailed for violations of the law.

Ragtime Cowgirl, please excuse my acronymic ignorance: What's an SOE?

It should be noted "THOUSANDS OF DEM TRIAL LAWYERS".

We have lawyers here at FR who are very conservative and wiser than the mob-style dem lawyers.

It sounds like they'll be challenging military ballots, other absentee ballots, anything they can get their hands on. I bet the dem voter fraud handbook is as detailed as OBL's handbook.

In the year 2000, the phone banks in Texas started calling people election day to convince them that they made mistakes at the polls.

Follow the phone banking from Texas which leads to the lawyers which leads to McBride which leads to the DNC all the way to HRC. Haven't seen her lately? She's hiding while the dems try to steal elections on her behalf.

I am curious how exactly the Dems plan to get around how "touch screen" voting will be used this coming election to scan and record the fingerprints of felons, illegal aliens, double voters, welfare cheats, assorted other deadbeats, etc.

Being a software engineer, there have been articles in the trade pubs that, for the last couple of years, have obliquely referred to this unmentioned application of the technologies used in the new touchscreen systems, although nothing stated outright. It's pretty plain when you read into the articles, though. I've also heard word about how database systems have become much more connected and unified in just the last couple of years, connecting fingerprint, face recog and criminal systems all together.

Put all together, and it's pretty clear that these hordes of dupes that the democrats employ to subvert and cheat the system are going to feel very "disenfranchised" soon after Nov. 5.

No one on the Republican side did any intimidating to the voters at the Rat Primary this year; that was the Rat party machine manufacturing a candidate when they knew that they couldn't get Reno into the governor's office.

When Rat staff don't show up to Rat polling centers and permit Rat voters to vote, this is not the work of Republican intimidation.

I would like to see observers watch the ballot box as the poll closes and follow it all the way to the final counting center. Sometimes there are reports of the boxes travelling around and around the city (until enough votes have been manufactured?).
