Soldiers don't kill women and children. Any suggestion that this cowardly crap is soldiering degrades meaning of the word and insults every good person who has put on a uniform for their country. Soldiers kill military targets, not civilians.
I often agree with JJ, but he lost it here. If he was trying to say the military may be needed to take out this trash, that's fine. But there is no semblance of honor in what this terrorist has done.

Per history of WWII, the Nazi soldiers killed women and children. Didn't the Japanese do the same ?
Sgt Hathcock, the famous U.S. sniper killed a woman Viet Cong known as Apache, becuse of her cruel torture of U.S. prisoners (he gave her a second shot-she was a military target).
In Black Hawk Down, women and children were shot (they were shooting or being used as cover, so were military targets, in self defense).
Sorry to disappoint you, but there are clearly cases where children and women have been targeted/killed.
I will offer some examples, and you must decide for yourself if you would have done the same.
1. Children - 10 to 14- armed and sent toward your concealed positions, firing weapons to draw your fire and thus identify your positions....for their heavy weapons platoon. Killed silently - once close enough..
2. Young women (mostly), carrying back packs of C4 and scrap iron -- with the trigger wire taped to their wrist - such that as she approaches your position - all she must do is raise her arm in surrender and trigger the explosion in your midst. Killed at a distance.
3. Weapons cache discovered in an earthen rice field dike. Ambush set in place for several days - to await the "owners" to return... Party included men, women and children..... Area illuminated - enemy STARTED firing.... All killed in place.
