Clearly they are trying to exploit these shootings. As to their willingness to kill to get their way they knowingly lie to get their policies enacted knowing that those policies will kill people. Hey, given her ethics I would not put it past Sarah Brady pulling the trigger on anyone if she thought it would result in a gun control law being passed.

One of the 9/11 hijackers, Hani Hanjour, had tried to rent a plane in Bowie, MD. (He was turned down because his flight skills were so poor; he was allowed three qualifying test flights during the second week of August.) See this Newsday article.

Just a coincidence? Or is there a continuing al-Qaeda presence in that area?

CBS is reporting that, prior to 9/11, hijacker Hani Hanjour conducted reconnaissance flights with small planes rented from airports in the New York and Maryland areas.

I think it is very likely that the Maryland airport concerned is the airport in Bowie (where the hijackers were previously reported as having been active,) very near the school where the shooting was on Monday.

Would a radical Islamists write on a tarot card "Dear Policeman, I am God"? I thought there was a connection between Bowie and Islamists too, but when the perp wrote on a tarot card: "Dear Policeman: I am God," I thought differently. I would agree with you if all the Islamic terrorists were doing their "jihad" for religious reasons. Not all are: for example Saddam Hussein and Arafat.

My point is that we don't know what kind of communications may be going on between the authorities and these guys. This could be a couple of Republican Guard, for example, delivering a message about what is ahead if we go to war.

There is nothing I''ve seen that suggests it's a message from Hussein--I'm just saying that not everyone fighting with the Islamists is a religious zealot. Some of them just like murder and mayhem.
