Ashleigh Banfield, Feminist Icon: "Couldn't DC Sniper Be A Woman?"

Ashleigh Banfield, PC-feminist, avidly advanced the notion last night on her MSNBC show that the DC-area sniper could be a woman.

Ashleigh was interviewing a former FBI profiler, Greg McCrary. As an aside, I found McCrary to be the most informative and articulate of the TV experts I've seen to date on this issue.

In any case, Ashleigh, proudly dedicated to promoting a woman's right to choose any profession, even that of serial murderer, said a couple things that would be funny were it not for the tragic context.

First, in hypothesizing about the perpetrator, she referred to "the guy." Then, catching herself in what was, to her way of thinking, a horrible gaffe and affront to hard-working women mass murderers everywhere, Ashleigh added "or girl." That's right: "girl"!!

Later, once again seeking to break through that nasty glass ceiling that for so long has kept promising women serial killers down, she asked the profiler: "we know a .223 weapon has been used. Could this be a woman shooter?"

McCrary managed, barely, to keep a straight face. "Well, the odds say it's a man. But we can't exclude anyone." Sure.

Used to hang with a woman who had put a deer arrow thru an ex-boyfriend one inch above his heart -- believe she did it in the evening from about 50-100 ft -- through a heavy overcoat too. He lived and learned. She was a work buddy, careful was I not to get too close to her.

She was also a pathlogical liar -- and mental game player, seems I'm kind of immune to that stuff, can see through the lies and just don't give a fly's tush for mental games. All which she knew, so she hung with me for psychic relief on her part. Didn't stop her from trying to get me involved in the myriad of risky schemes that she was constantly coming up with. For the most part, they rolled off like water over wax.

Anyway, she's the kind of woman I could picture doing that kind of thing -- shooting a boy at random on some whimsy. I mean I knew another woman, also a mighty deer hunter, who read books about serial killers during lunch, yet she could never do such a thing, imo -- she just wasn't a liar.

Inveterate liars have that mental displacemnt to do such a thing --once -- but even they couldn't pull it off again and again -- imo. To repeat -- you have to be trained or crazy, and craziness if so acted on is a quickly accelerating spiral out of any control.

So, I think this terror sniper is someone who has trained him/herself well and long, or who has been trained.
