The big 3 "chose" not to carry our President's speech, but fell all over themselves carrying the Senate Majority Leader's meltdown on the senate floor a week ago while he whined and pointed his political finger at Bush!

Regime change, to be legitimate, must get support from Europe and all our allies. Cowboy Bush can't go-it-alone!

As usual, you have it absolutely right...we need to keep throwing the following quote in the Dem's faces...

Later in 1998, Senator Tom Daschle - now the Senate Majority Leader -- lobbied for a Congressional resolution to take "all necessary measures" to respond to the Iraqi threat. At the time, a large number of U.S. allies opposed any U.S. military action. Daschle responded to questions about the need for action this way: "Look, we have exhausted, virtually, our diplomatic effort to get the Iraqis to comply with their own agreements and with international law. Given that, what other option is there but to force them to do so?"

I seem to recall these are the same people who have said repeatedly that the President has not made his case.

You've got that right...I just listened to some idiot on talk radio saying Bush hasn't made his case...right after he stated that he was at the grocery store when the Bush speech was aired, but he knows Bush did not make the case because he caught "the clips" on the 10:00 news...give me a break!

I had my own problems with watching the telecast, first of all, it started raining and my satellite kept losing the signal, so I muted that TV and I turned our other "local" TV on the speech as well. The "feed" was at different speeds, and one of my house guests from hell, who are not politically inclined, started playing games with the remote, making it sound like an echo as Bush was speaking. I calmly picked up a claw hammer that I had on the counter, walked up to him and told him "Go ahead...touch it again..."

One day later...

Thanks for the "correction"! We clicked on Fox network, and it sure looked like the baseball game was imminent, as was the speech, which we didn't want to miss, so we went to Fox News, with minor "surfing" to just check which networks were airing it...must've missed checking Fox network the second time around (I did figure we either missed something, or it was another local decision, as Brit Hume was so convinced Fox had it...!!)

I am curious as to the number of local stations picking up on the coverage...we had ABC, NBC, and apparently Fox, 8:00 DST (a.k.a. "prime time") despite the "national network" decisions to leave it "optional"...rumor is, the "nationals" didn't want to be obligated to offering "equal time" to the "opposition", heheHE!!

Main thing is, it was an important speech, very well said, and fortunately was apparently more widely broadcast than one might have expected. It's not the best news one could wish for, but it's better to realize these things sooner rather than later (to sort of paraphrase the President)...

Freegards!
