FOX cable will undoubtedly carry the speech but I would be very surprised if the local Fox channels carry the speech. The ATL/SF baseball playoff game starts @ 1700 PT. Bush needs to hit a homerun himself tonight.

Being this close to the congressional elections, the liberal, conventional media do not want to give Bush any kind of "lift" that might cause a few more GOP seats to fall his way next month. Sad, but true.

The networks gave The Creep air time to lie and bash Ken Starr after his grand jury testimony I guess that's more important that going to war.

Is it that important, though? Everything I've read has said the President isn't going to be saying anything new. What was it one of his people said, "the speech will break new rhetorical ground"? That sounds absolutely pointless, to me. If he's got something new to add (and I don't mean rephrasing things in order to "break new rhetorical ground"), then the networks wouldn't be questioning whether or not to carry it...

Thanks for the call to armed keyboard action, rintense ...

Since the President has nothing newsworthy to say, I'd like to see the White House ban ABC, CBS, & NBC from future Air Force One flights and WH press conferences.

PBS is not covering it. I e-mailed the big networks yesterday and could swear they said they were going to cover the speech this morning. It will not interrupt MNF. That starts at 9 pm. Big FOX starts the Braves-Giants game early though tonight and it would interrupt that.

I mean c'mon...it is game 5! Who cares about an Iraq speech that is not going to show or share anything new. I will say something about this...the media and rats have wanted Bush to speak to the nation and be more clear. Well he is going to do that tonight and it is obviously not a big deal for them. I still say e-mail the hell out of them and let them know they should air it. Act like a viewer of theirs.

If I were in FOX's shoes I would air the 15 minute speech on both the cable channel and regular network to show that they are the bigger of them all. It is all up to the head of their news division...go for it.

I agree. More than likely, the news conference will air in the stadium anyway. FOX could really get the one-upsman on the rest of the networks.

No surprise there. They don't really want feedback. Just like our "public servants" in DC who turn off their email addresses or delete all messages without being read. And forget postal mail now, they can't open it, any of them, for fear of anthrax.
