Could you tell from the footage shown which entrance they might have been talking about ?

Reporter on WMAL said a patch of grass in that wooded area was matted. The police thought the shooter had lain down there to get off his shot.So what was the range? Was it next to a vehicle? What would have been the likely escape route? Why do they theorise the guy was not seen?

Do we finally have something that says the weapon is more compact than we think??? and that the guy was on foot for at least part of the scenario??
If the dogs can pick up the gun powder scent, can the dog also pick up the human scent if the guy was lying down??? or is that wishful thinking??

If they're just now coming around to that line of thinking, we may be in a heap of trouble, crime-solving wise. I hope that the investigators have been studying all the parkland and park-like areas that conveniently overlook the areas where the victims were when shot. And, with all the greenspace we have kept in MoCo and elsewhere in MD, there's almost no place that one wouldn't be at risk of being targeted by a sniper.
