"That was exactly the point. Other explanations do not fit with what we are seeing."

Why not Islamist terrorists?Anyone who has followed the tapes and jihad training manuals and methods will easily see the similarities. Why can't the authorities?
A poster a few weeks ago used the perfect term which I picked up from him/her (sorry don't know who it was):
Called it 'crowd control'

Racially, I noted there have been whites, blacks, and Hipanics, but no Koreans or other Orientals and there are loads of them in the DC area.Hey Jeff, this is an interesting observation, don't you think?

Reading your post is a great prayer.

Yes...a .22LR can hit a target at 100 yards with a scope

I believe he's a former D.C. homicide detective. He was on quite a bit when Chandra Levy's body was missing.

Thanks. I figured LR stood for long range but husband isn't home to ask such a basic question.

They are not going to catch him/them alive.Alive, dead, what difference does it make? Catch 'em.

Two of the Oregon group (brothers) were "raised in a large, strict Muslim household in Maryland". Moose came from Oregon? Half the town knew about this cell.
Was the first hit on Michael's a warning to the Oregon group??
Do we have a "mole" somewhere??

Now channel 9 TV news is covering the behind. The shooter may have been in a vehicle on the side of the road in between the school and the woods. From an overhead shot I saw, it looked like there might be an interstate exchange with a small woods between it and the school. I thought when I saw it that the shooter may well have pulled off the road and shot from there. Maybe that's what the reporters are thinking.

That was my thought, and some has posted that the perp was shooting from about 75 yards..22LR theory doesn't hold water. The .223 is certainly on par in terms of size with a .22..
But you need to deliver one helluva lot of energy to the target to make a hole the size of a coffee cup. Much more than a .22 will deliver. The .22 can be quite lethal (don't get me wrong)... but it won't make a hole the size of a coffee cup. It's lethality depends on the round traveling in different directions inside the body through a relatively small clean entry wound (owing to it's low velocity)
Either the wound size observation, or the suggestion that the round was a .22... is wrong.

Do you mean this guy? He's probably hiding behind Kathleen Kennedy Townsend.

Use inhaler first...they calmly call the school and ask if they're taking any precautions...are you in an area close to these shootings...if yes...maybe plan to pick up your daughter before school ends ??...but then I hear this kid was shot almost an hour before school started, there were not a lot of people there yet... I know how you feel...I have a son at community college and I do admit I had a flash of panic for him, but I don't want to feel this way...that's why I am pissed now. Prayer helps too, if you are so inclined :)

***It sure as hell wasn't a 22LR, if it left a hole the size of a coffee cup***
Ding ding ding!!
You are spot on, it sounds more like some type of frangible or pre-fragged ammo. There are alot of .220 - .224 caliber varmint rounds that expand and fragment in a violent manner. It may be .22 caliber, but I doubt .22 lr.
