Children's Hospital spokeswoman reports that the child is in critical but stable condition. He's still in surgery and it is unknown whether the bullet has been recovered.

Since it is achieving it's desired effect, i.e. TERROR in the minds of people in the Washington, D.C. and now increasingly around the US, it is, by definition, DE-FACTO TERRORISM.

Now the work to determine if it is a homegrown job or an overseas job. My suspicions tell me it is the latter, precisely because the national media won't even include this scenario in their trying to figure out a reason. Why not include the single most plausible explanation in our day and age for this? Why avoid it? Why lone nuts? Why racists? Why serial killers? Why not Islamist terrorists?

Whomever a serial killer targets doesn't matter. Look at the Atlanta Child killer - he targeted little boys. The Zodiac killer targeted homeless people in Central Park but he was still a serial killer. Son of Sam targeted supposedly brown haired girls and then shocked everyone when he killed a blond girl and I believe wounded her boyfriend. Serial killers don't always have to target women or prostitutes - they target whomever they want to. It depends on what their motive is. Random killings make serial killers even more excited because then the police have no idea who the next victim will be. These people love watchng their dirty work on TV.

The Ted Williams from Fox keeps mentioning Michaels. He's johnny one note on this subject but there's something creepy about the Michaels connection. Guess they'll be changing the name of their store. I'm in no hurry to go there.
