Home grown terrorists - would target government, politicians, LEOs, etc. KKK/Nazi types - would target ethnic groups. Snapped Nutball - lots of shots into a crowd, killing a bunch at once. Serial Killer - Usually kills the same "type" of person, over and over again, like prostitutes, women who look similar. This terrorist sniper fits none of these. The targets are varied, they are not government associated, and have no similarities.
I agree. I was thinking at first that it was just as likely a drug or gang shooting until Fox said he was shot at a distance--as in sniper. Our homegrown drug shootings are usually done at a fairly close range and are done with a handgun--not a rifle.
I am coming to the conclusion that this is most likely terrorists, and I'm getting tired of the authorities and reporters dancing around it.

The bad part of this is that the american population has become scared and weak. If this were our grandfathers generation these jerks would be hunted down by all the citizens in the area and we need that kind of action now. We need the general population to participate and to get involved instead of siting on their butts watching it on TV!

When my step father died in ver early am I couldn't believe the crowd that assembled immediately, sirens, lights and whistles at full blast. You should have seen the crowd that arrived when my wife burned the chicken and called 911.
It was a little embarassing.

That's what I just said to my husband. What was the cop doing INSIDE the school - he should have been standing at the front door as kids were being dropped off.

Another interesting twist:
If it is a crazy, lone racist or crackpot 'Merikan gun nut, then the libs will milk it for all they have got for GUN CONTROL for the upcoming election in Maryland.
But if it is Islamist terrorists, the reprecussions will be massive and OPPOSITE. People across the land will once again be arming themselves to the TEETH, just as they did right after 9-11. The Gun control lobby will loose all momentum, and all libs that supported gun control will be defeated at the polls. Plus, for sure, NATIONAL SECURITY will replace THE ECONOMY as the PRIME ISSUE for the 2002 Elections. Democrats will be dropping like flies.
At this time of national tragedy, please forgive this dry analysis--my thoughts and prayers are with the families and I hope they catch these terrorists ASAP!--but these are also the larger implications, IMHO.....

If it is Islamic terrorists (and I believe it may be, but that is JMO), then ultimately this is going to backfire on them and lead to events like I describe in my sereis.
They will ulitmtely find what Yamamoto knew about trying to attempt any ground war here ... even a guerella one. Too many people armed and in the face of "open season", initial liberal/socialist clamoring for gun control will turn into a reverse open season on those doing the shooting ... again, if it is Islamic terrorism.

Very interesting. Muslims are supposed to pray five times a day but I don't know if there are specific times for the prayers. However, the prayer wouldn't take long so the "dead time" would probably be indistinguishable from regular moving around. I believe they're allowed to miss prayers if doing the work of Alla. Really. Not kidding. I read it somewhere during the Afganistan renovation. They're exempt from the rules then. Afterward, they go back to facing their butts to the west.

What we HAVE heard is Pat Brown on FOX news say they are probably looking for someone who has copies of "Guns&Ammo" magazine on their coffee table.

There's nothing wrong with dry analysis and it's a good point you made re gun owners vs. gun control.

And that all guns had to be outlawed as a result...

Drove to work this morning at 9:15 through Rosslyn and there were about a half-dozen Arlington cops parked all around the entrance to the Key Bridge that goes across the Potomac into DC. Looks like LE is trying to cover all possible "border" crossings in case the shooter drove through DC on the way back to Virginia. Good call IMO. Entire DC area LE on the lookout. Makes me wonder if perhaps they do have a car ID or license number to look for.

Absolutely agree 100%!!
Of course this mother did the right thing. The local hospital was 1.5 miles away, according to Mapquest.

This terrorist sniper fits none of these. The targets are varied, they are not government associated, and have no similarities. The targets seem certainly random. It's more as if the location is picked, and then the victim is whoever comes into the vision of the rifle scope.
Wasn't there an Interstate 5 sniper out in California about a decade ago? That's the closest I can think of to this situation.

The media appears to be controlled by the Arabs and the Islamofascists.
IF the media EVER moves towards the truth, it will probablyy suddenly veer and
quickly blame the terrorist murders on President Bush, Israel, white men and Republicans
(through not necessarily in that order).

What I don't understand is why they aren't trying for their hellish martyrdom in these attacks. Their organization may well be reluctant to lose a marksman as good as this one is.

"I am coming to the conclusion that this is most likely terrorists, and I'm getting tired of the authorities and reporters dancing around it."It is terrorist, and as I said and you said very well, too, 'they are dancing around it'. Leave it up to a British, French, Australian or Japanese news outlet in the US with objective reporters to finally start breaking what in fact this phenomenon is. I guarantee it.
To: two23
Hahahaha well that certainly narrows it down.

"This terrorist sniper fits none of these. The targets are varied, they are not government associated, and have no similarities." One other: Preference for a particular area. Also, not knowing the area, but, aren't most of these people in this area associated with the government in some way.

For selfish reasons, I hope this IS NOT a white extremist(s). I just don't think I could take the media field day without smashing each of the 4 tv sets in the house.
