I don't blame the networks for not carrying the speech: they know their audience and that the channels would be changed to BET, or Friends reruns, or anything else that would not make them think.
Every day the line is being drawn more clearly: patriots and conservatives watch FoxNews; idiots and dim/lib government pets watch the rest - don't worry about it. Everythings moving along just as it should.

loddy, I do understand your point and it is a good one. If we were to believe the NYT and CBS we'd believe the economy is foremost in the minds of all Americans. Surely, a strong economy is important to all of us but I believe in most families our national security trumps our pocketbooks since 9-11. The same can not be said of the networks. President Bush delivers brief, concise speeches. The press delivers interminable analysis afterwards. Had they chosen to delay regular programing for a few minutes to air the speech and to forego their "analysis" they could have had a win/win moment.
