loddy, I do understand your point and it is a good one. If we were to believe the NYT and CBS we'd believe the economy is foremost in the minds of all Americans. Surely, a strong economy is important to all of us but I believe in most families our national security trumps our pocketbooks since 9-11. The same can not be said of the networks. President Bush delivers brief, concise speeches. The press delivers interminable analysis afterwards. Had they chosen to delay regular programing for a few minutes to air the speech and to forego their "analysis" they could have had a win/win moment.

I usually give what I can during these freepathons...but we are currently seeking employment. (Laid off.) However, as soon as we are able, I will donate. (Which, I am confident, will be very soon.) PROMISE! (No freeloading here...just installments! ;)
