Well, we freeped 'em, we freeped 'em good.
Gray Davis along with Hillary Clinton and Terry McAuliff came to the Century City Hotel. Why, I'm not certain. The Century City Hotel is located in the heart of, you guessed it, Century City. The area is comprised of modern tall buildings, clean and pristine, and on a weekend, empty streets.
We arrived at about 4:00 p.m. A few minutes later protesters started arriving and we soon amassed about 30-40 people. AnnaZ was there, Badjoe, dalereed, hangfire, TonyinHawaii, and a whole bunch more people
One of the nicest things about this freep were all the non-FreeRepublic people who "spontaneously" showed up. There were some darling girls from UCLA who had the wristbands to be able to get into the function. Apparently in an effort to attract enough people to the event, UCLA students were invited. After standing outside and freeping with us for a while, these absolutely darling girls folded up their signs and tucked them under their shirts and into their pants and decided to battle the devil on its own turf. We didn't see them again. I hope they came out unscathed. They promised to throw in some boos for me during quiet moments.
The democrats did their usual and large busses were seen unloading their groups. I strolled by the hotel to get a better look and, you know what they say about fat middle-aged Republicans, well, the same holds true for what I saw waddling out of those busses.
There was so much going on at the freep today, and I want to be sure to give others a chance to chime in so I'll leave some details out. There were LOTS of honks for us and our signs, believe me, many people know that Davis has got to go.
Badjoe had a wonderful experience. A pro football player who just retired this year, and I can't remember his name right now, sent his lackey out and invited Joe into the hotel for a drink, as he liked Joe's sign and what Joe was saying through the bullhorn. At first I thought it was a ploy to get us to quit freeping, but that was not the case.
Joe went into the hotel and came out to tell this story: He took his sign in with him and met the football player, who also went to Pitt, just as Joe did. They were having a wonderful time talking and Joe had his sign which he was holding up. A security man came over to Joe and told him he'd have to leave since he had that sign. Joe asked him, "Are you with the secret service?" The man said, "No, I'm with hotel security." Joe said, "So that means you don't carry a badge or gun, right?" The man replied, "That is correct sir but I will now have to escort you out of the hotel." Joe politely said that he wouldn't be leaving yet and then introduced him to his "bodyguard," the 6'8" 300-some pound football player. They all had a good laugh, Joe set his sign down and stayed to finish his beer and talk and the security person disappeared.
Some people have all the fun, don't they? I sure wish I could remember the name of the football player for you, he is on TV on a football show, his number was 98 and his name is something like Tory????
Anecdotes aside, this freep was fun, the surroundings were lovely, the people were sensational, the cops and security were there the whole time staring us down, very eerie to me, but it was a great accomplishment.
For you ladies out there, RonDog has great legs and actually looks pretty good dressed up as a hooker, I was impressed. I may go out and buy some fishnet stockings tomorrow, they do wonderful things to a woman, er, person's legs.
You know where to RSVP!
Are you looking forward to seeing me portray Hooker Davis in Sac-a-tomatoes? ACK!
To be quite honest? YES! (You were the first choice of the casting department, remember?)
xo
Actually he just believes in running TV ADS , he dosen't do any governing!

California: Dynegy, Mirant Plan Audit of California Power Agency's Salaries
Pasadena, California, Oct. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Dynegy Inc., Mirant Corp. and other generators plan to audit a bankrupt California power agency to learn why its chief executive officer receives $1.6 million a year to run a defunct market with 10 employees.
Dynegy, Mirant, Reliant Resources Inc. and Sempra Energy Monday told the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Los Angeles that they had agreed with the California Power Exchange to have an accounting firm audit the salaries paid CEO George Sladoje and Chief Financial Officer Lynn Miller. Miller received almost $575,000 from April 2001 through May 2002, the generators said.
At 1:00 we visit Bagdad Jim McDermitt at his Town Hall meeting to tell him what REAL AMericans think about his trip. (Something along the lines of DON'T COME BACK)
Fred, I didn't actually see Hitlery, but on one of my trips across the street to walk by the hotel and look at the foolish dems, I saw a long stretch limo bearing down upon the hotel. I had a woman's intuition that it was Hitlery so I didn't walk across the street, even though I had the green light, but waited there to wave my sign at the car. I'm ashamed to say what I screamed at her (if indeed it was her) as the car went by. All the windows of the limo were up so my poor vocabulary was blown away by the wind for which I'm grateful.
There was a very beautiful lady who freeped with us, she is not a freeper, but is another spontaneously motivated individual who is doing all in her power to make sure Davis isn't reelected. She told me her story of her protest at MacArthur park a few days ago. She arrived at the park with a woman friend and a man friend. She carried with her a sign consisting of a broom with a sign attached which read something sweeping Davis out of office.
The park was filled with hundreds, maybe a thousand union goons who were there to support Davis. Jesse Jackson was one of the speakers. Now remember, this is two women and one small man. They were the only people there in support of Simon. The union thugs separated them, surrounded her, ripped her broom and sign from her hands and stood on it, refusing to give it back. They encircled her and began bouncing her against their chests. She was terrified.
Eventually a large black man, dressed very nicely who she thinks may have been one of Jesse Jackson's bodyguards came to her rescue as she was asking the union goons to give her her sign back. He told them to give it back and they stood there, on top of the sign, and only moved when he reached down to pick up the sign. Then he went back to the stage area. So now she has her sign but the goons again surrounded her, bumping up against with their chests.
The next thing she knows, a policeman reaches in, gently takes her sign from her, takes her arm, and walks her away from the mob and over to her friends. To get out of the park, the police had to surround them and walk them away.
Apparently while the union goons were attacking her, they had punched her man friend in the groin two times. The second time the police actually saw it happen and immediately arrested the man who did it. Of course, now her friend is terrified because his name and address are on the police report.
We nailed it!I was "pre-occupied" when HRC came out, but apparently she DID wear "Ol' Crusty!!!"
This is very good news. If anything, Washington State is in worse shape than California. I have friends there and apparently, whatever socialist idea pops into the Washington State government's collective heads is immediately put into action, sending more people fleeing for their pocketbooks. The legislature then considers how they're going to pay for the new "I feel your pain" programs they've enacted, and come up with the not-so-new-anymore great idea of, you guessed it, raising property taxes, AGAIN, to pay for it.
You've got an absolutely gorgeous state up there that, like California, is saying to businesses, "We don't particularly want you here unless you pay us a whole lot of money."
Freep 'em good.
I will expect a ping to your after-action reports.
See post #17 for easy access to the list!
Gray Davis is usually tight-lipped about where and when he appears, but as we hear about freeping opportunities, we'll be there.
It was heartening to see the turnout today, a real grassroots effort, and a WHOLE LOT of young people.
AND GOD BLESS RONDOG!
Ooh! Did they tell you what happened? What did they do to get booted out? Tell me EVERYTHING.
