Another DC-area sniper-style shooting
Wife (FReeper nina0113) | October 4, 2002 | Steve0113

Posted on 10/04/2002 12:02:50 PM PDT by Steve0113

Another broad-daylight shooting just occurred, this time in Fredericksburg, VA, just off I-95. It's not even on the news yet.

About an hour's drive south of where the Montgomery County shootings happened, a woman was shot in the parking lot of a Michaels fabric store. My wife was in the store at the time. The victim had left the store and carried her purchases to her minivan. She unlocked the minivan and was loading her stuff into it when she was shot. No sign of the shooter.

No one else was injured.

The woman was taken away in an ambulance, condition unknown. Her license plate (which I'm not going to post) indicated that she had several children.

I think I caught the end of a report re this shooting on local radio WMAL. It was a press conference by the police chief from MD. He was saying they were getting forensic evidence to determine if this shooting was related to the others from yesterday. He did not go out of his way to downplay the possibility or even probability.

Often people here have vanity plates that say, e.g., 5SMITHS, KIDZVN, 4BOYZ, etc.

That's the kind it was.

Thank God your wife is safe. My prayers for the victim.

And it was a Michaels store that was hit first, Wednesday night (around 5:20 p.m.), that one at 13850 Georgia Ave. in Aspen Hill.

concealed in that white truck

You could be correct. I know of several cases where "professionals" used contenders, but these weren't hit, they are random acts of terrorism (in my opinion)

This Michael's is on Rt 3 and east of I-95. It is in one of the first shopping centers built on theRt 3 strip. The Michael's was a Drug Fair super store at one time. The shooter seems sticking close to the Inteerstate for fast getaway. This trend will wreak h-ll with the DC if it continues.

Yes....T/C contenders and others shoot "rifle calibers" in single shot mode.

I would bet that this is all being done with an AR-15/M-16 derivative, as a political statement against US arm sells to Israel. That is, killing us with our own weapon. This is terrorism, one way or another.

Yesterday, I was convinced that it was KKT (Kathleen K-Townsend) driving around popping the few remaining non-DemoRATS in Montgomery County... to assure her victory. But now that there's been a shooting in VA, I guess I can't be so sure. *sly grin*

Yes, Joe, Michaels is a arts & crafts store. I shop there and at Hobby Lobby frequently.

Isn't that an arts and crafts store??

Michael's in our area is mostly arts and crafts. I would assume they have Halloween and perhaps Christmas displays in the windows at this time of year -- could be relevant, since this is the second one targeted...

Perhaps a vanity plate with something like "MOMSCAB" or something of the sort.
