Another broad-daylight shooting just occurred, this time in Fredericksburg, VA, just off I-95. It's not even on the news yet.
About an hour's drive south of where the Montgomery County shootings happened, a woman was shot in the parking lot of a Michaels fabric store. My wife was in the store at the time. The victim had left the store and carried her purchases to her minivan. She unlocked the minivan and was loading her stuff into it when she was shot. No sign of the shooter.
No one else was injured.
The woman was taken away in an ambulance, condition unknown. Her license plate (which I'm not going to post) indicated that she had several children.

That's the way I see it too. A report yesterday that the last of yesterday's shootings took place while police were swarming around that very area indicated that the killer was a local psycho more interested in disrupting a given area than in his own safety. It is looking more and more, though, that two perps are involved, a shooter and a driver. That indicates terrorism.

Van Zandt says they're probably still on the move, and loving it. He says it's "get-even" time for two guys who "feel like they've been ditched by the world." So, this is the third day this has been going on and these guys are "still on the move"? If so, they haven't moved very far, plus they took both nights off for a little shut-eye. They sure are picking their spots and targets well. That hardly sounds like a couple of wacked out kill-all-the-f***ing-world nutjobs to me.
Somehow, these killings seems quite deliberate and planned,... planned perhaps for their very randomness and untraceability. Clues seem to be almost nil. That is unusual.
Van Zandt obviously thinks the possibility of a terrorist operation is too over-the-top to mention!
Of course, the FBI maintained the LAX shootings were the work of a deranged individual, too. Or, at least that was their unwavering stance to keep the sheeple undisturbedly grazing until the heat died down. Wouldn't want anybody taking the law into their own hands, would we?

If you don't know where the shot comes from, who would you shoot back at? A valid question, but it wouldn't keep people from carrying if they felt themselves to be targets. If you feel like a target, you'll feel better if you at least have a theoretical chance to shoot back.

Does anyone know the race of the victims yet? Are any of the victims white? (I.e., could this be some racist person?) Three whites (2 men, 1 woman), one Hispanic and one Indian yesterday. Or 2 whites, 2 Hispanics and one Indian.
One of the first things out of Rick Sanchez's mouth on MSNBC yesterday was "Are they all minorities?". He wanted "hate crime" so bad he could taste it.

Yes....i remember. My dad always had a gun in the gun rack too...in Mississippi. It was a scoped Winchester Model 100 in .308.....
Don't see that so much today except in deer season.
I'm 44.

Think of the baffling you could build for cheep and set up in a delivery van. That with acoustic material on the walls, I would guess that leaves only the crack of the bullet and some muzzle noise in the direction of the shot.

It may just be that he/they picked a mall right off the highway.I'm inclined to agree with you - I figure pick a spot where picking someone off would be akin to shooting fish in a barrel. Where else than a shopping center?

OR, it's several teams. . .assuming this is terrorism. . .
If this IS an Al-Qaeda op, I'd suspect 5-10 teams, same MO, different vehicles, shoot one, move on to next target zone.

I agree with you about the inept police work and I really hope that these guys have just been lucky...because if that's the case, their luck should be about due to run out.

That kind of accuracy suggests a high level of training/skill. No it doesn't. See #189.

Could it be some left-wing gun control nut that is shooting people to sow fear, and get more support for gun control laws?I nominate PETA, long as we're engaging in paranoia.

"Van Zandt also didn't think the LAX shooting was terror-related. I wish Fox would get rid of him and hire Steve Emerson. I'd be interested to know Emerson's thoughts on this."
The Times paper in Los Angeles was spinning and spinning that Hadayet, the July 4 shooter, just had "personal problems", the pc position, with repetitive cites to unnamed fbi officials.
The airline industry and the PC Police are in the same boat on that one.
Then the NY Times came out a week or so ago that Hadayet had alleged ties to an Egyptian Jihad group, just like Debka.com said.

"Can you fire a high-power .223 from a handgun?"Actually, yes. I also have a handgun that fires the .308 round...very accurately.
