You got that right. You remember when even the liberals here possessed a modicum of sanity, class and ethics. So do I but less so. We have been caving into lunatic ideas and leftist run governments (state and federal) for too long

He is the guy that was singled out for being a Jew when terrorists seized the Achille Laurel, isn't he? He was a Jew and an American and they killed him to make a double statement. I heard them and understood exactly what they were saying. The bozo who wrote this article never got the message. It looks as if he can't even figure out what 9-11 was about.
The time has come to end this.

Don't hold back, Grandpa.
Tell us how you really feel about the Islamakazis! :)

This guy wouldn't think "Christian fundamentalists" were a problem if he didn't already think that Zionists were a problem.
He is, certainly, Jewish. But he writes from a left-wing, secular Jewish position.
I don't happen to agree with some of the very detailed prophecies we are seeing these days about the end of the world. I hold with Christ's words, "No man knows the day nor the hour thereof."
But there's no question that the Bible says explicitly that God specially chose the Jews and made an eternal covenant with them. That's all over the Old Testament and confirmed by St. Paul in the New Testament. And I accept that God guides the world through His providence, although He gives sinful humans ample scope to wander astray from the path.
By no means all Protestants, or all Evangelicals, agree with the particular details that some have put forward concerning Israel and the end of the world.
But this guy's understanding of the Bible is not the traditional Jewish understanding. It's basically modern, post-Englightenment, and pseudo-scientific.

Actually, I am holding back. What I really feel about the Islamakazis and their backers can't be put on Free Republic.
If I said what I really felt and posted my key words, I would be suspended during the Freepathon by the Admin Moderator.

Posts/threads like this should have to have warnings saying:
"Warning: This thread/post is vicious elitist propaganda paid for by the Fundamentalist Islamakazis, Wahabis, and the IslamoFascists who hate Jews, Israel, Americans and America.
Remember Fundamentalist Islamakazis, Wahabis and IslamoFascists want to kill every American and Israeli who is alive and turn the two countries into Islamakazi countries. (You have been warned, and now you can read this elitist Bravo Sierra! Be sure to shower and burn your clothes after reading this elitist Bravo Sierra!)"

I've always thought we were pro-people; I've always been pro-Israel but now I must be a real bad person for feeling that way (NOT!). This nutcase shows his true feelings about Jews and Christians.

Is this someone you knew who was close to you, Ditto?

We aren't? oops, better get down of my building then. It's getting cold now anyway.

No. Just an old man, a fellow citizen, who never harmed anyone who was brutally murdered just to send a message.
I got the message.

There are a lot connections of the Islamakazis and the Green Jihadists. More will be exposed as these messes get exposed.

This guy thinks he's an expert on what Christians believe.
If there was any residual anti-semitism among Christian conservatives, it was burned away by the events of the holocaust. American soldiers liberated the camps, and American Christians, and Americans in general, were deeply moved by what they saw.
Prior to the Second World War, it was easy to believe that God had forgotten about the jews. But WW2 put the jews front and center, and the rebirth of Israel in 1948 sent shock waves through conservative Churches. Americans have always believed that we were uniquely blessed by God, and so the Biblical concept of the "chosen people" has always resonated with Americans. In our bones we have always felt it applied to us. This is not strictly a Christian belief, it forms a part of America's secular religion, this belief in our uniqueness, and God's special favor.
The founding of Israel in 1948 confirmed for many believers what they already believed, that the Bible was true, and that God's plan for the jews was still on track. That meant, for American Christians, that we weren't the only "chosen people" anymore; the originals were back. And we "chosen people" have to stick together.
It is this sense of shared "chosenness" that is the basis of our dedication to Israel. It is not intellectual, it is visceral. It is not about trying to convert them. It is about the barely understood sense that we are somehow an extension of one another, that God has his hand on both of us. Israelis may or may not share that view, they probably don't. But we do.

But recently a new pro-Israel group of Americans has emerged, the Christian Right of Fundamentalist ChristiansHallelujah and pass the ammunition!

Thanks for the link.
I guess one rationale of cannibalism is as good as another. ;^)

The more I think about it, I guess
even given this, the fundie's support of Israel really does make sense.
I still remain un-convinced though. I really don't believe that the nation of Israel, the one that would be favored by God, would not be like what I link to above.
