REV. JERRY FALWELL CALLS THE PROPHET MOHAMMED 'A TERRORIST'
The Rev. Jerry Falwell will call Islams founder and most sacred figure, Mohammed, "a terrorist" on 60 MINUTES this Sunday night, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
I think Mohammed was a terrorist. I read enough by both Muslims and non-Muslims, [to decide] that he was a violent man, a man of war, Falwell tells CBS. In my opinion Jesus set the example for love, as did Moses, and I think Mohammed set an opposite example.
Falwell hits total controversy while affirming the Christian Rights steadfast support for the state of Israel against its Islamic enemies.
The interview with CBS reporter Bob Simon, in which Falwell hints that the Christian Right influences U.S. government policy toward Israel, has been set for broadcast, network sources say.
MORE
Falwell sent a personal protest to President Bush, and the White House received 100,000 e-mail protests from Christians when Bush urged Israel to remove its forces from Palestinian towns earlier this year. Falwell believes Bush is well aware of the Christian constituency. There are 70 million of us [and] theres nothing that would bring the wrath of the Christian public in this country down on this government like abandoning or opposing Israel on a critical matter, Falwell tells Simon.
Falwell and conservative Christians support the Israelis and condemn their enemies because they believe the triumph of Israel is Gods will. The Jews return to their ancient homeland and sole ownership of the territories Arabs and Israelis both lay claim to -- is a precondition for the second coming of Christ, according to the Fundamentalist Evangelical Christians interpretation of the Bible. The Biblical scenario is not a savory one for many Jews, however. God save us from these people, says Israeli political analyst Yossi Alpher. When you see what these people are encouraging Israel and the U.S. to do ignore the Palestinians, kick them out they are leading us into a scenario of out-and-out disaster, he tells Simon.
But disaster is part of the scenario. Many Fundamentalist Evangelicals believe there will be catastrophic events on earth, some occurring already, including the turmoil in the Middle East, culminating in the Battle of Armageddon in which Christ will triumph and begin ruling the earth. At this point, they believe, non-believers will be destroyed, good Christians saved and any remaining Jews converted to Christianity.
Says Ed McAteer, a founder of the Moral Majority and known as the godfather of the Christian Right, I believe that we are seeing prophecy unfold so rapidly and dramatically and wonderfully, and, without exaggeration, [it] makes me breathless.
Developing...
Remember when Reagan called the Soviet Union an "evil empire"? The media had a fit, as they will now. And ten years later the wall fell.
Many years later Gorbachev admitted that Reagan's words had a significant impact on the Communist Party hierarchy creating a lot of self doubt, introspection, and loss of nerve, however difficult that may be to believe.
Shinto is the only similar religious thing that I can think of. And we know how that ended up.
First of all, I am not one "who hate" Scripture and am not Satan either. And go read II Timothy 3:16 which tells us that ALL Scripture is for reproof and correction of the saints. If you think Falwell is above reproof and correction, you have the problem, not me.
And you will have to show us how my disagreeing with Jerry Falwell's arrogant mannerisms pits me against the Bible. [Please cite chaper and verse when you do.]
ALso, save your prayers, I first repented years ago and have again many times since.
I dunno. You have the triangle (gays), the rod (male), the circle (female) and the screw shape (deviants). Seems pretty obvious to me.
Sodom and Gomorrah. New York City. Compare/contrast.
Time to bring back the F-8 CRUSADERS
I agree. But Reagan never called Stalin a terrorist, even though it would have been true.
Reagan had much more political sense than does Falwell. [I would even bet that Ronnie even with Alzeimers has better sense than Jerry Falwell.]
I agree. Jesus commanded us to share the "gospel" with others. "Gospel" is defined as "good news."
Some people act like it is good news that 'those bad people' are going to hell. But the good news according to Jesus, is that 'those bad people don't have to go to hell.'
Save your money. Falwell not a prophet. Pointing out that the founder of one of the most violent religions in history was a terrorist is no big accomplishment. Falwell is simply singing the tune Israel's "Amen Corner" in America wants to hear. He misses a HUGE point here:
There are 70 million of us...[and] theres nothing that would bring the wrath of the Christian public in this country down on this government like abandoning or opposing Israel on a critical matter. Were the wrath of 70 million Christians to descend on Washington if the government abandoned Israel, it would be yet another sign of our misplaced values as a nation. 70 million Christians have sat silent while the government abandoned the Constitution under the reign of this "conservative" president. Christians need to quit worrying about Israel and start worrying about America for once.
I for one would rather have the truth than spewing lies (ie Islam a 'religion of peace') for the sake of an election.
I'm glad someone has the balls to tell the truth: our enemy is ISLAM. It is a cult religion that at its heart is bloodlust and violence. Islam = hate.

Shinto is the only similar religious thing that I can think of. And we know how that ended up.
Who is this main warrior figure or warrior founder of Shinto?
"Shinto has no central founder, no sacred scriptures, no clearly defined moral code, and no ruling body. It is considered to be the earliest religion in Japan, and yet still continues to be the most common religion among the Japanese today."
