REV. JERRY FALWELL CALLS THE PROPHET MOHAMMED 'A TERRORIST'
The Rev. Jerry Falwell will call Islams founder and most sacred figure, Mohammed, "a terrorist" on 60 MINUTES this Sunday night, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
I think Mohammed was a terrorist. I read enough by both Muslims and non-Muslims, [to decide] that he was a violent man, a man of war, Falwell tells CBS. In my opinion Jesus set the example for love, as did Moses, and I think Mohammed set an opposite example.
Falwell hits total controversy while affirming the Christian Rights steadfast support for the state of Israel against its Islamic enemies.
The interview with CBS reporter Bob Simon, in which Falwell hints that the Christian Right influences U.S. government policy toward Israel, has been set for broadcast, network sources say.
MORE
Falwell sent a personal protest to President Bush, and the White House received 100,000 e-mail protests from Christians when Bush urged Israel to remove its forces from Palestinian towns earlier this year. Falwell believes Bush is well aware of the Christian constituency. There are 70 million of us [and] theres nothing that would bring the wrath of the Christian public in this country down on this government like abandoning or opposing Israel on a critical matter, Falwell tells Simon.
Falwell and conservative Christians support the Israelis and condemn their enemies because they believe the triumph of Israel is Gods will. The Jews return to their ancient homeland and sole ownership of the territories Arabs and Israelis both lay claim to -- is a precondition for the second coming of Christ, according to the Fundamentalist Evangelical Christians interpretation of the Bible. The Biblical scenario is not a savory one for many Jews, however. God save us from these people, says Israeli political analyst Yossi Alpher. When you see what these people are encouraging Israel and the U.S. to do ignore the Palestinians, kick them out they are leading us into a scenario of out-and-out disaster, he tells Simon.
But disaster is part of the scenario. Many Fundamentalist Evangelicals believe there will be catastrophic events on earth, some occurring already, including the turmoil in the Middle East, culminating in the Battle of Armageddon in which Christ will triumph and begin ruling the earth. At this point, they believe, non-believers will be destroyed, good Christians saved and any remaining Jews converted to Christianity.
Says Ed McAteer, a founder of the Moral Majority and known as the godfather of the Christian Right, I believe that we are seeing prophecy unfold so rapidly and dramatically and wonderfully, and, without exaggeration, [it] makes me breathless.
Developing...
"All of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say: 'You helped this happen,"' Falwell said.
He added later: "God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve."
Now, from pgs. 19-20 of What's So Great About America by Dinesh D'Souza:
So what is the Islamic objection to America? In conversations with Muslims from around the world, several common themes emerge...."Americans have two things on their minds: money and sex", "Your women are whores", "In America mothers prefer to work than to take care of the children", "In our culture the parents take care of the children, and later the children take care of the parents. In America the children abandon their parents", "America used to be a Christian country. Now atheism is the official religion of the West", "Your TV shows are disgusting. You are corrupting the morals of our young people".
Of course, their are other factors as to why Islam and the West, especially the United States, have been on a collision course which fulminated on Sept 11, 2001.
The disciples of Islam believe that we are indeed "infidels" and the Koran orders our destruction.
They are intent on making Islam not only the religion of the world, but also the 'way of life'.
Dr. Falwell's remarks made after 9/11 were correct, as his most recent one's are too.
Truth is, President Reagan often confided with Reverend Falwell & both men held much respect for the other.
Is that a fact. Well Jerry Falwell & The Moral Majority were very instrumental in getting Ronald Reagan elected.
And President Reagan considered Mr. Falwell a friend as well as spiritual adviser.
I think Ronald Reagan would be better at determining who gives conservatives a "bad rap" than yourself.
They will.
A lot of them stayed home when H.W. broke his no-tax pledge & later when the RNC offered up Bob Dole.
The "Religious Right", in my opinion, is the most prolific voting bloc in the country, (my apologies to the erudite/beacon of truth...Ann Coulter), when they are indeed motivated.
Well, the "disciples of Islam" who try to enforce this perversion will have to be killed, every last one of them.
Dr. Falwell's remarks made after 9/11 were correct, as his most recent one's are too.
Falwell is a tactless fool. Blaming American behavior for Islamist retribution is idiotic.
Yes they did. But we are talking about who has the most political sense. Right?
Well Earl, I'm not, because Jerry Falwell isn't a politician.
