Is this in addition to the five separate shootings in Montgomery County over the last 48 hours?

Aw Sh*t! Just what the gun banning democrats need. Another school shooting to ramp up their, "ban the guns, it's for the chil-run" ranting.

Prayers for the families of those affected.

No, they're locking down the schools ("Code Blue" - whatever that means) but the shootings were not at a school. They were in random places around the county.

No, I think you're confusing the facts. Schools have been locked down in Montgomery County because a couple of killers in a white truck have been driving around since last night murdering innocents. One at a grocery store, two at different gas stations, one guy mowing his lawn...

It's absolutely tragic. Marylanders, beware.

Just what I was thinking. Odd how these things happen around election time.

Two deaths were one mile from my house. If someone had a gun, they could have stopped these morons.

Death count now stands at eight. . . Top

Apparently Random Shootings In Maryland Kill 5

11:08 a.m. EDT October 3, 2002 - Police in Montgomery County, Md., are trying to determine if they have an apparent shooting spree on their hands.

Police say a man was shot and killed, shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday, while pumping gas at this Mobil station in Rockville, Md.Montgomery County police spokeswoman Capt. Nancy Demme told reports that police are "an ongoing crime that we have not experienced before."

Demme said starting Wednesday night about 5:20, there was a shot fired at the Northgate Shopping Center, but no one was hit. Then less than an hour later in the parking lot of a Shoppers Food Warehouse in Wheaton, Md., Demme said, another shot was fired killing a 55-year-old man.

Then at 7:41 this morning, in the 1100 block of Rockville Pike, in Rockville, Demme said a Hispanic male operating a lawn mower was shot and killed and at 8:12 at the Mobile gas station at Aspen Hill Road and Connecticut Avenue, also in Rockville, a man was pumping gas when he was shot and killed.

Demme said at 8:37 a Hispanic woman was shot and killed while sitting on a bench outside a post office in the 3700 block of Rossmore Boulevard in Silver Spring.

Demme said as she was preparing to update reporters, another shooting was reported at Connecticut Avenue and Knowles Street at a Shell gas station, and a person there is also dead.

Police said they are looking for two men in a Isuzu type vehicle, a box truck with black lettering on it with damage to the rear-lift door.

So at least two of the victims are Hispanic. Might be somebody with a grudge against Hispanics. Do we have any description of the killers?

"In MD it is almost impossible for a non-resident to get a permit. For that matter most MD residents can't either."

The above from: http://www.packing.org/state/index.jsp/maryland

You know, innocent people die when only criminals are allowed to be armed.

But, the good folks of Maryland are reaping the fruits of their socialism.

To bad about the ones shoot, but when the voters of a state put in office extreme left wing liberals who are to cowardly to trust their own citizens to be armed, well, the voters get what they deserve.

My brother lives in Montgomery County. He's got several guns, but of course not with him (against the law there).

WMAL-AM Radio - report -

Multiple Shootings Across Montgomery County - As Many As Five Dead

(Undated-AP) -- Montgomery County police are working to solve five fatal shootings that took place in the last 15 hours.

Police are looking for two individuals in a white Isuzu S-U-V that some damaged to a tailgate after several witnesses said they saw the vehicle leaving the scene of some shootings.

Montgomery County police don't know if the crimes are connected.

Spokeswoman Nancy Demme says the first one took place last night, a 55-year-old man who was killed in the parking lot of a grocery store in Wheaton.

At around 7:41 this morning, in the 11-thousand block of Rockville Pike, a Hispanic man on a lawnmower was shot and killed.

At 8:12, at the Mobil gas station on Aspen Hill Road at Connecticut Avenue, a black male pumping gas was gunned down and a half hour later at the post office of the Leisure World retirement community, a Hispanic woman was shot in the head.

Another shooting was reported at ten this morning of a shooting at a Shell gas station on Knowles Avenue at Connecticut Avenue.

As most DC Chapter FReepers know, I drive a white Isuzu... be assured that I am not involved. I'm not saying this to be funny in any way.

I am home from work today, preparing for a crowd of teenagers here tomorrow night, and had planned on running errands today. I think that's out for the time being...

Montogmery County folks, be careful out there.

"Drive by terrorism?"

I wasn't going to say anything, but now I will: Didn't we hear of such tactics being employed in the future? Given the proximity of the strike on Iraq, perhaps this sort of thing is beginning.

Watch your backs, folks. It may be local, but it may be not.

Pray for the victims and their families, y'all.
