Be orderly but visible. Get there early but not so early you will be dispersed with lack of permit. Roll up your signs and and hold them up at the location. Cameras need to set up early -- around 1:45pm.
BE ORDERLY -- OBEY CAPITOL POLICE. We will not protest lawlessness by being lawless ourselves.

Calder v. Bull, 3 U.S. 386 (Dall.) (1798) Supreme Court has jurisdiction to overrule unconstitutional state legislation, such as ex post facto laws.

Bob Dole was leaning forward on a platform to shake someone's hand, and the handrail gave way.
Or were you one of the slugs standing there watching him fall instead of helping a fellow human being?

Oops, it looks like you were referring to Lautenberg as the old fool. Still, it's not the kind of thing to wish for out loud.

Daschle became, Senate Majority Leader......All he thought he had to do was sit on every bill that the house sent to him........He even campaigned for Torricelli last week..........Daschle didn't plan adequately Toricelli's departure from NJ's Senatorial race.....Daschle was definitely asleep at the switch on this one........He(Daschle) should be embarrased to show his face on TV....But He'll hide his embarresment with a smirk.....Daschle......Definitely not leadership material!!!!

Rush said Lousenberg is already bashing the President's tax cuts......this ought to sit well with all those 'rich' families who got a $600 check......
Guess he wants them to send the money back cause the government needs it for 'programs' for the striking union workers on the West Coast. Their $100,000 salaries just don't cut it.

I went to the Capitol this afternoon in time to attend the Daschle/Lautenberg press photo op. Unfortunately, the public was excluded from attending. Only people with appointments and special passes were allowed to go into the Capitol. Looks like the dems can get their photo op with no fear of embarassing questions or dissent.
I made up a number of handouts and stickers to take with me. I forgot who posted the wonderful bumper sticker with Torch and Lout and the words "bait and switch." But I thank him/her for such a good idea. I copied this onto the top half of a page and then made two more sheets. I put a different message on each sheet: New Jersey Voters Spoke in the Polls; If At First You Don't Succeed . . . Do-Over, Do-Over, Do-Over; and Democrats TORCH the RULE of LAW.
As I stood outside holding up one of my sheets, a number of suited men came out laughing and talking. One squinted in my direction, read the sign and said, "Ummm, Friends of Mine." I said I was sorry to hear him say that because his friends are crooks.
I saw several photographers leave the building and walk my way. I asked one if he had been to the Daschle/Lautenberg press conference. When he said yes, I asked what Daschle said. He kept walking as he raised his voice and shouted, "I don't remember." LOL
There was very little activity on the Capitol Grounds on the Senate side. In fact, I hadn't been there for awhile and was saddened to see that they had paved much of the grounds (paradise? - remember that Cher song) and put in a parking lot. I understand that the security measures have been tightened up immensely; but they are building a visitor's center and the fence, tents, barriers and parking lot are ugly to see.
If anyone wants to visit the Capitol, you must arrange ahead of time to get visitor tour passes or a staff-led special tour pass.
If anyone has WordPerfect and would like me to send a copy of my three handouts, please email me at
angelwood8@earthlink.net.

"Ummm, Friends of Mine." I said I was sorry to hear him say that because his friends are crooks. No wonder they kept walking. They're cowards.
Thank you, Angelwood. You ARE the intrepid one.

Hi Geez!!!!

Nice job, Angelwood. Got to keep the message strong.
BTW, I think it was Joni Mitchell that sang that "they paved paradise and put up a parking lot". I could well be wrong, though.

My haven't we been busy this week and it's only Thursday. I understand her heinious is coming to Monty County, Maryland for a Van Hollen fundraiser. Looking for details as the Devil would like to stop by.

You're both right about the song. Anyway, that was my impression when I saw all the lined parking spaces instead of trees and grass.
To: Jimmy Valentine's brother
I'd like to see the Devil greet Hillary. Hope you can find out the details so we can be even busier with freeps this month. Hillary and Bill are doing fundraising for Kathleen Kennedy Townsend on the 16th and 18th, respectively. We have the details on Hillary's appearance on the 16th but still need to do more sleuthing to gather info on Bill's gig. FReep On!

Thanks, Howlin and inkling. The bumper sticker makes a great sign or handout and looks good in black and white (which is all I had access to at work).
