The White House engaged in a divide-and-conquer strategy with congressional Democrats that isolated Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and won support for a resolution authorizing military force against Iraq.

The plan resulted in President Bush being surrounded in the Rose Garden yesterday by prominent Democrats who pledged support for the resolution. Mr. Daschle, meanwhile, was left to issue a one-page statement at the Capitol saying he expected the Senate to give Mr. Bush his way.

This a great reply. A few of us when GW made his UN Speech on Iraq recognized the techique of Ronald Reagan.

Forget the mediots, forget the normal channels, take your important message to the American people directly. By pass the left wing mantras and let the American people decide what is important.

Da$$hole didn't realize what had happened.

Your reply is so appropriate when applied to the rats in the Senate and the Islmakazi Lusters who ran Iraq to supplicate at the knees of their beloved Saddam:

Your reply:

"We will ..., turn them one against another, drive them from place to place, until there is no refuge or rest." (President George W. Bush, September 20, 2001)

President Bush made this statement in a joint session of Congress, describing how he intends to fight terrorism. Apparently, he feels it to be a great strategy to fight other opponents as well. So do I!

Actually just let Babs continue her stupid acts in the public eye.

Drudge has just removed her dried up ovaries re her so called Shakespear quotes and the third grade English in her POS letter to Congress.

Babs is destroying herself every time she opens that huge cavern of an untalented mouth. She like the Iraqi Three Islamakazi Rats in Congress are destroying themselves.

Watching arrogant and anti American Rats destroy themselves is the greatest show on earth.

From what I have heard, this is exactly the sort of thing Bush did as Governor of Texas. This man is a LEADER!

Notice one thing in particular about him ...... no "I ... I ... me ... me ... I ... me ..." ....... he is secure enough in himself that he can give others the credit, let them take the spotlight, even when it's been his genius [yes! that's the right word!] that's pulled something through.

"He wants to get his members home [to campaign], he wants to be president, and he doesn't want Daschle to be president," the aide said, referring to jockeying for 2004.

IMHO, we are going to see a major food-fight among the Democrats for the next six years, over which of them is going to be president. For a few years, at least, that will keep them divided and help the Republicans.

I don't think Hillary has a sufficient power base or personal attraction to compete over this length of time. Her power came from clinton's abuse of his position in the White House, and that is now gone.

Daschle is now completely out of it. Gephard and Biden don't really have a realistic chance either, but they are pretty certain to keep jockeying for power over the next four or five years, along with Leibowitz. I wouldn't write off Edwards; the press would love to put another clinton into office are prepared to lie their head off over him.

Actually those are the old and out of date Rat train cars were left on the track by President Bush. Conductor Bush after 9/11 got the Americans who care about American put us on a non stop train to wipe out the Islamakazis and their supporters throughout the world.

Those dirty old and out of date train cars are filled with the likes of Da$$hole, the Babbling BS who misquotes Shakespear, the Jihad 3 congressits, the left wing maggots of the media and other out of touch left wingers.

They are setting in those old and out of date cars chanting their mantras of hate from the 1960's. Their cars are going no where. Since 9/11/2001, they have separated themselves from the good people of America. They are becoming more out of touch and more despised each day.

I agree. Let Babs keep talking and singing those unbelieveably stupid songs. She makes the democrats look so stupid and crass. Like Barbara Streisand represents the average joe, eh? Yeah, right.

Tom Daschle has made a total mess of this situation, thanks to the maneuvering by GW. He looks totally inept and is twisting in the wind. First he wants the debate, then not the debate, then the debate about the debate, then Gephardt suckerpunches him and he has to cancel a news conference. Every time Daschle tries to speak at a national level, he bombs, BIG TIME! Same as Gore. This is so fun to watch.

TAKE BACK THE SENATE!

This what I love about Free Republic.

We not only discuss key events. Then someone like you posts what appears to be a simple reply.

After you read it, you go WOW!

This happened to me after reading your reply. President Bush in his Stealth Presidency and his UN speech is doing to the rats in the Senate what he as done to al Qaeda thugs around the world.

Thank you!

The Jihad Islamakazi three from the Rat side of the house did more to bring the house together than anything else.

A lot of people were upset. I hoped that they stayed over there for weeks on their knees, kissing Saddam's feet and other parts of his anatomy.

Gephardt must have gotten some hard polling data and scary focus groups re the negative impact those 3 were having on the Rats. So he decide not to be suicidal and supported this resolution and stood by President Bush in the Rose Garden yesterday. That picture had to send chills up the spineless backs of the Rats in the Senate.

Bayh was educated at St. Alban's, married a very pretty woman who is an attorney, has twin sons, and executive hair.

ROTFLMAO! Reminds me of the Dilbert cartoon when the Ponty-Haired Boss is showing a new guy around: "He possesses no qualifications or training, but he's very tall, so we know he'll go far. He also has executive-style hair; we think it will turn silver."

Looks like a newscaster.

OTOH, there's not a very good track record for guys going from the Senate to President.

When you are in a struggle for your survival, the best thing that can happen to you is for your opponents to think that you are the dumbest thing in the world.

You just let them think that until they are laying on the floor in their dumbness.

The elite and out of touch with America Rats are destroying themselves with their arrogant positions. Over 70% of Americans know that President Bush is not dumb, and most of us in that group thank God that he is our president every day.

Can you imagine what would have happened to this country if the Goron had been our president on 9/11/2001?

Yep, not bad for a dumb, spoiled Bushie brat, who owned a baseball team!

Isn't it amazing how many of the negative remarks against President Bush have been used against Bill Simon by the leftists and those who claim to be conservative.

Go President Bush! Go Simon! Stop the insanity! Dump rats from the Senate and Gray Davis in November!

I read his last book about the election. Very insightful. In fact, while people were focused on Florida, Sammons uncovered a more deadly problem in the election. The refusal of the networks to call states that Bush won handily, and how quickly they called states for Gore when he was the winner by 1 or 2 percentage points.

I find this very dangerous, because it causes vote suppression in the West. If I think that Bush isn't winning Virginia, North Carolina, or Georgia...states I feel he should have handily, then I am inclined to think that maybe Al Gore will win this election.

If you haven't read Sammons book on the election, it is very worthwhile.
