The White House engaged in a divide-and-conquer strategy with congressional Democrats that isolated Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and won support for a resolution authorizing military force against Iraq.

The plan resulted in President Bush being surrounded in the Rose Garden yesterday by prominent Democrats who pledged support for the resolution. Mr. Daschle, meanwhile, was left to issue a one-page statement at the Capitol saying he expected the Senate to give Mr. Bush his way.

A question: How has Tiny Tom helped the Rat party win elections? We know he hasn`t helped the country.

What pleasure! What felicity!

It's a wonderful thing.

Tom is once again found with his finger on the OBSTRUCTION button. And to see his own people leave him there, alone, pouting! Sweet!

...administration officials were to meet on the resolution with the chiefs of staff of Mr. Daschle... The White House canceled that meeting because administration officials were not sure of the position of Mr. Daschle, who said last week that Mr. Bush was politicizing national security and the war on terrorism. Instead, congressional sources said, the White House began negotiating directly with Mr. Gephardt.

Dubya may be Mr. New Tone Nice Guy with most issues, but he's playing hardball on national defense. I am glad to see it.

Little tommy dashole wasn't there because they couldn't find his box to stand on. He was aafraid he'd look small and petty and illrelevent. So he stayed in his office sucking his thumb.

And the Dims thought Dubya was too dumb to be President. Bush keeps overachieving and running rings around the likes of Little Tommy. It was great to see the symbolism of Bush in the Rose garden surrounded by Dims and Pubbies, with Hastert, Lott, Gephardt, McCain, Lieberman all on his side. And, by his obvious ommision from the gathering it is apparent that Little Tommy is the odd man out, having diminished himself and his parties chances to keep control of the Senate in November.

They got little hands
And little eyes
And they walk around
Tellin' great big lies
They got little noses
And tiny little teeth
They wear platform shoes
On their nasty little feet

Well, I don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
Round here

Beat me to it. Bush is continually underestimated. If the Pubs do regain the Senate and keep control of the House, it will be a reversal of the usual and totally counter to the Dems realistic expectations (before Dash gave the Pubs the issue and high ground). Dash has been marginalized and he is President of the Senate!

"The 'Baghdad Boys' may have pushed along Gephardt a little quicker than he wanted to," said Republican political strategist Scott Reed.

I wonder how the Baghdad Three feel now.

Dick "Poco Loco" Gephardt took one look at the polls and made up his mind. Since he can't be House Speaker, his next best shot is to position himself to run in the Democratic primaries in 2004 for President. Hence the Rose Garden scene. Lil Tommy Daschund must be fuming that his pal in the House pulled the rug right out from under him and staged a Rose Garden ceremony with President Bush. Look for things between the minority Democrats in both Houses to get fast and ugly in the new Congress next year.

Self-righteous. But then, that's usually how they feel.

George W. Bush warned Daschle never to lie to him; I suppose he must have meant "don't lie ABOUT me either."

I hope he smashes the little creep.
