I think that's too narrow thinking. The Senate is a national body and they should be allowed to show that the national body is being harmed because of unequal treatment in the selection.

It's not too narrow, it's the way it is. This isn't made up as we go along. NJ voters aren't voting for who controls the Senate. They are voting for their Senator. No other state has a claim on who they choose.

It's not that there are no federal issues here, but equal protection is not one of them. All NJ voters will be presented with the same choices.

Then this has to be what they hang their hat on. Can you be sure of this? How long will it take to get new ballots designed, proofed, printed, proofed again, stuffed with all the samples and position statements, and mailed. What is the turnaround time for mail to Afghanistan these days?

The potential is so great for a mixup that you can't be sure that everyone who's eligible (not just those who choose to vote) gets the same ballot?
