Focusing on absentee ballots, now on those that are already sent in.

Just a slight disagreement with you. I believe that I heard someone yesterday say that the only way this thing gets to SCOTUS is on a Voters' Rights basis. In other words, voting rights is a federal issue, which could be violated in the case of the absentee voters' already receiving ballots which will have been invalid.

The Rat lawyere is getting hammered. This sounds to me like much more than justices tossing a lawyer friendly questions to help them flesh out their case. Many of the justices sound extremely skeptical that they can grant relief without turning the process into a farce.

This should be televised on EVERY channel right now. Unbelievable.

Anyone remember how much face time they gave Jeffords?

...the only way this thing gets to SCOTUS is on a Voters' Rights basis

That would explain the perseveration on the absentee ballots sent in already.

The questions they are asking seem to suggest that they are looking for reasons to grant the dems request.

YEP, they are saying to the RST. "Please tell us the best way to do what you want and we'll do it".

I wonder who is supposed to pay for all this nonsense of color coding and new ballots!

I hope the Republicans bring this up.

Ballots could be resent, color-coded, numbered, etc...

I think it is important that it was a female judge who helpfully asked if a color-coded ballot was what the lawyer thought would work.

Perhaps that was used in the past in a legitimate ballot correction, but I'm worried a bit regarding this.

C-span's cutting into and out of the NJSC hearing. House now voting to allow churches to participate in political campaigns without losing tax-exempt status.

Back to NJ. How could the Republicans be prepared for this? We were blindsided. This Dem. lawyer has this act down cold.

Is the Dem lawyer making a case like "hey...it's only a few absentee ballots (and NONE of them are military) so tough luck if you filled yours out in a timely manner and returned it already" ???

Arguing again that reason for 'vacancy' matters not a whit.

Have you forgotten Florida 2000? Federal rules mandate that you CANNOT change the rules in the middle of an election!
