Possession of illicit drugs and firearms is a sure prescription for suicide by cop. IMHO, these young adults shoulda known better and merely suffered the consequences of their own actions.

Didn't you know, the cops don't NEED no stinkin law, as they consider themselves ABOVE it. If they all decide that's what they are going to do, it simply becomes "policy".
