OK FOLKS LISTEN UP!!

It seems that some Freepers that are on dialup are having a bit of trouble loading up the pictures on the Freepathon Thread and since it is taking so long, they end up moving along and not coming to the thread

Maybe we can make the pictures smaller or limit the number of picture between each 50 posts??

If anyone has any suggestions to help those on dialup .. please post them because I am too brain dead to think anymore today .. LOL

On the picures, if the posters would be sure to include "width=xxx" and "height=xxx" parameters within their "img src" html statements, the threads will load much faster. The browsers will reserve space and draw a box for the photo and then continue displaying the rest of the thread while the photo fills the box.

How to disable graphics images so a page loads more quickly
- dialup users THIS WILL HELP!

First, if you use Internet Explorer, go to the menu bar (should be the top of the browser). Click on "View". From its sub-menu, choose "Options".

From the Options dialog box, select the "General" folder tab at the top of the box. In the multimedia section you can select whether or not Internet Explorer loads an image, sound file, or movie. If you want a type of file to be automatically loaded, place a check mark in the appropriate box. If you want the images disabled, click to remove the check. Now whenever Internet Explorer loads a document that has images, a small icon will appear where each image is located on the page. If you wish to view the image at that location, right-click on the image area and then select "View Image" from the menu.

No more slow loads if you do this!
