As the Toch quits, does this mean the republicans take back control of the senate with a VP tie-breaking vote????

Well, if he announces his withdrawl from the election but will finish his term then no the GOP wont gain control. But if he resigns his seat effective today, then yes, the GOP will regain control unless McGreevy appoints someone to fill his seat. And if he does that, then there will be no election in Nov and the replacement will serve for 2 years.

For the uninitiated, "series" is a deliberate misspelling for humorous effect. Ha ha!

I thought he was refering to Peter Toch, one of the three original mebmers of "Bob Marley and the Wailers". But he died in 1987. Or is it Peter Tosh?

He hasn't quit yet, you probably ought to read this. And putting your title through a spell-checker might not be a bad idea, either. When you're misspelling words like "torch" and "today", especially in a title, you should take a few more precautions.

Their will be an election in November for the six-year term. The rats are simply trying to replace Torch with a less ethically-challenged candidate.

With regard to a federal constitutional office, state law cannot be interpreted to override federal law which mandates the November election for this Senate seat. Think Supremacy Clause.
