Carl Cameron pointed out that Lautenberg is a multi-millionaire and can self-finance a campaign.

If the RATs and their "independent" and RINO ilk brethern manage 51 seats, then as long as there's no election, the appointed ilk will get to stick around until 2004 (the Senate does have final say as to who gets to sit there).

But the same people who are disgusted by the Torch's ethics, are the same people who won't care for this tactic either, AS LONG AS we slam it as the weasel move that it is.

New Jersy -- Call radio shows, and write to editors. Get the word out - BEFORE anything happens. Refer to it as a "what if."

The Dems will try the legal argument that whoever replaces Toricelli that he or she will become the incumbent and therein their name automatically qualifies to be placed on the ballot.

They'll try. Whether it'll work is up to the courts, but who knows how long this can be stalled by them. All I know is this is going to be another one of those Full Employment for Lawyers kind of deal.

"More like 'Democrats: their about Power to the PEOPLE. They're about Power to the DEMOCRATS.' "

DUH!...I need more caffiene...or a drink (some of you posters are making me wish I could have one right now, LOL)

That was SUPPOSED TO BE:

"Democrats: they're NOT about Power to the PEOPLE. They're about Power to the DEMOCATS!"

No kidding.

Sheesh, and people wonder why a RINO beats a Rat: The Dems are so desperate for power that they would cancel an election.

What everyone is missing is that the deadline to replace the TORCH by his party has PASSED Sept 16th.

The only other option I see is if they try to push the election back...or cancel it..

I believe it was Phillip Beck and Ted Olsen who became the stars of the Florida Fiasco.

The Dems will try the legal argument that whoever replaces Toricelli that he or she will become the incumbent and therein their name automatically qualifies to be placed on the ballot. Do you think this will work?

It's too late to put a new name on the ballot, that passed Sept 17. So, we're looking at a replay of Carnahan's death...vote for Torricelli, and we'll appoint someone you'll like.

I'm pretty sure FReepers were all agreed that, legally, the Carnahan thing had no basis. But because of the already messy election we didn't fight. We'll fight this time.

When this happened wioth Carnahan

Re:Rush reporting a joke email on air that Clinton has been seen cruising in New Jersey looking for real estate.. I dont even know if it's implausible enough not to think about it!

Anyone know what the requirements are in New Jersey for qualification? The 2nd most important reason Hitlery Vagina picked New York to run in (besides the millions of brainwashed RAT voters in the inner cities) was because it has just about the loosest requirements to qualify in the nation: Own a residence in the state on the day of the election. Most states at least require you to have actually LIVED there for X amount of time before you can run for office.

I'd be surprised if NJ's rules were that lenient. Which would completely rule out X42.

Keep these guys on retainer. We will need them before this mess is over. I can't imagine Mcgreevy telling the citizens of this state that the election is canceled because we (the dems) have picked a bad candidate. It would be un-freakin-believable.
