Demonstrators imitating suicide bombers hold up a banner which reads 'NO WAR' as thousands of demonstrators protest in Madrid on Sept. 29, 2002 against a possible U.S.-led military strike on Iraq. U.N. weapons inspectors were to meet on Sunday to prepare for talks with Iraqi officials on details of their return to Baghdad after a nearly four-year break. Washington accuses Iraqi President Saddam Hussein of developing weapons of mass destruction, a charge Iraq has repeatedly denied. Photo by Andrea Comas/Reuters |

Alright, I'll stop. But for the record, it's more trouble than it's worth. (Raising one eyebrow)
This was also the same lady who has the blonde hair and blue eyes.

under duress Pardon my dreadful Latin. And there's no duress whatever. I'm not going to tell you to stay away from blondes, if that's your preference. I had only one "blonde" girlfriend (aeons ago, prior to getting married), and she was a card-carrying beeeyatch. Like they say, she may be pretty, but somewhere, some guy is sick of her $#!+ and glad to be rid of her.

many of us started out that way, but genetics prevailed.
Raise all the eyebrows you want, but as many doors as it opens, more are closed. Amazing what jealousy does.

The worst one of those I ever knew couldn't decide on her hair colour, actually. Perhaps her frustration with not finding the right colour played out on others. ;)

As a rule, whining is to be avoided (as opposed to wining, which is perfectly acceptable). Let's just say that I've run into a good number of low-esteemed, paranoid, catty people in my time. I might be stronger for the experience, but definitely no happier.

beauty goes a lot deeper than skin

My experiments on hazel eyed Puerto Ricans (one, actually). have been quite interesting so far.
If a bit wearing.
Nonetheless, I shall soldier on.
I feel it to be my duty...
To: Mr. Thorne
If your Puerto Rican is anything like my (mostly) Filipina, the experiment should be a resounding success. And that hair color simply cannot be obtained from a bottle. Looks black until seen under direct sunlight, in which it appears somewhat reddish. Simply amazing.

Mine looks something like post #37.
Quite so on the hair color.
She WAS blonde for a week, but it was accidental. She says she now believes blonde jokes; during the week, while her hair recovered she says she ran into doors, desks, furniture, forgot names, keys, etc.
Viva la boriqua!

I might be stronger for the experience, but definitely no happier. Well fortunately I'm selective enough to avoid such people, and have sufficient experience to know how to avoid them. ;)

To: MadIvan
Yes, what is that quaint English phrase?
Keeping a stiff... upper lip.
Musn't go there!
Musn't!
= )
(well, maybe I could go there every now and again...)
To: Mr. Thorne
Keeping a stiff... upper lip. Correct. And thank you for not engaging in information overload. ;)
