The title "Mister" is proper WH protocol and has been for many years. Even the Wall Street Journal uses this title and I would find it hard to accuse the editorial board of that daily liberal.

This is true, but there's more to it. In an article on a thread earlier in the week, President Bush was constantly referred to as 'Mr.' while in the same, Sadaam was referred to as President Sadaam..' and Gore was referenced as 'former Vice President Al Gore'.
