"his attack on the President was an example of what the shrinks call displacement"
"displacement" = PROJECTION!!

Yes, that statement sent me ROTFLOL!
However, this other statement was a tongue in cheek statement which a lot of people may not get: "after its early victories in the Pacific, the US wisely concentrated on nation-building in the Solomon Islands for five or 10 years instead of rushing on to liberate Europe".
We did, rush on to liberate Europe - we did not nation-build in the Solomon's for 5 or 10 years.
The point being - Gore says we should stay with the Afghan situation instead of "rushing on to liberate" Iraq.

"Taken as a whole, the 50 Democratic senators' current positions on Iraq forms the all-time record multiple-contortionist pretzel display." Priceless. And oh-so-true!

Everyone knows that wasn't David Cassidy, it was Felix Cavaleiri (sp?) of the Young Rascals. Maybe he was, like, channeling David Cassidy, or something.

But then Al Gore rose from the dead to demonstrate that his political antennae are still as reliable as a 1948 TV with busted rabbit ears. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced - Algore is a Republican mole. The image that comes to mind is of somebody smacking flies with a claw hammer when they've just lit on his own forehead.

Al spent his riveting Gore '00 presidential campaign in a fruitless pursuit for "the real Al Gore", launching a brand new "real Al Gore" every couple of weeks. I liked the "Reagan" version he rolled out in the First Debate the best. The head nods, the hair, the rosy cheeks; great stuff! I have vidcaps of that one somewhere . . .

...the First Rule of Holes: when you're in one, stop digging.
Too funny!
