That story sounds like my mother. My father is a brunette and my mother has black hair and very dark skin. Then comes along my brother and I, flaming redheads. My all my great grandmothers were redheads, but we couldn't explain my tiny dark mother. My great aunt finally confessed that my great great grandmother was an Ojibwe Indian and very dark.

same here. My mother and I have dark skin and dark hair, but my brother has blue eyes and had blonde hair until he was 10 or so.. My sons had blonde hair until they were each about 4 and are as light as can be.....Between the Germans on my dad's side and the Cuban/Panamanian/Dutch on my mother's side,we have quite a mix going...
