Whhhhheeeeeeeeee !!......Fair forecast: Sunny & warm - Texas
State Fair open today September 27th
09/27/2002
By KIMBERLY DURNAN / Dallas Web Staff
The State Fair of Texas opens its gates Friday morning with weather that's sure to earn the Big Tex seal of approval.
The weekend forecast calls for warm days in the low 90s and cool nights in the mid 60s, forecasters said.
WFAA-TV Clear skies over Dallas were a good omen for fairgoers. |
"It looks beautiful," National Weather Service Meteorologist Steve Fano said, "but it's a little bit warmer than normal."
High temperatures Friday are expected to hit near 90 with lows in the mid 60s, he said. Saturday high temperatures will reach the low 90s with lows in the mid 60s.
The outlook for Sunday through Tuesday is much the same, with high temperatures near 90 and low temperatures in the mid 60s, Mr. Fano said.
The rest of the state will see a similar forecast with the exception of the Panhandle, where a cold front is expected to lower high temperatures to the mid 80s and low temperatures to the 40s.
A weak cold front is in the forecast for North Texas on Wednesday with a chance for rain on Thursday, Mr. Fano said.

Wow...I have lots of catching up to do....
Belated congratulations Jeff, you were awesome at Klaymouth and can't wait to read your books!
RW9 Thanks for keeping Chicago on its toes. I was raised next door to you (Birmingham) and also am an avid Red Wing fan!
Flyer...you do Texas proud and, as a long time Humane Society volunteer and animal lover...appreciate your devotion there too.

I re-watched In the Shadow of the Blade movie trailer: 3,305 Hueys were downed, 2,177 pilots and crew lost. I'm still searching for POW/MIA stats.

Flyer, as always, it's great to see you in the light you deserve.

Good morning, Billie! I'm back after a quick trip to Clear Lake, Texas City and Galveston. You did an outstanding job of making this little puppy look like one of the big dogs. Thanks!

Thanks for the graphic, JL. And for the reminder of how many aircraft and men lost.
Shadow of the Blade is well worth the wait for the download IMO. For dial-up connections, one could probably run to the store for the needed Kleenex.
