It's funny that the party that made such a big deal about Watergate is now saying "no big deal" on this one. This was every bit as premeditated as the taping and subsequent leak of the Newt Gingrich phone call a couple of years ago. And remember, the Democrats (Harkin campaign) denied any involvement in this and then had to backtrack, which means perjury and cover-up. The law in Iowa is pretty clear on this that if the clandestine taping is meant to do harm to someone, then it is illegal. When the Harkin campaign made a transcript of the contents of the tape and released it, that was meant to harm Ganske. It would be nice if the net effect of this was to get Harkin defeated.
