Someday a small frieghter may pull into a American port in say San Francisco, New York, or New Orleans with a nuclear weapon on board. The weapon supplied to radical islamic terrorists by Iraq. How will the dems feel if that weapon were to be detonated before the ship is searched. I guess the dems and Mr. Daschle place more stock in votes now than American lives in the not too distant future. These are the same dems who were so concerned about how the terrorists being held down in Cuba were being treated. So I guess they are atleast being consistent.

Wait no longer.
From the party of Clinton comes the admonishment that the president is too poll-conscious?
If Shameless Hypocritical B@st@rds had a club, Daschle would be its leader - wait, the 'Rats are a kind of club.
Tell everyone you know that the Democrats are with the terrorists who will kill your children while they sleep. Do not stop talking until past November. Do it!

Here we go with the moral equivalence crap: "Well, you accused Clinton of making all his decisions by looking at the polls, so it's only fair that we accuse Bush of doing the same. The war is popular, so that's what he's got to be doing, right? You said it, so now we get to say it. It's no different than what you did to us."
THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT IT'S NOT TRUE THIS TIME, YOU *@%## CLYMERS, AND YOU KNOW IT!!

As a matter of fact, I AM better off than I was two years ago. Maybe we should all EMAIL DICK GEPHARDT OR CALL HIS OFFICE AND TELL HIS STAFF THAT WE ARE BETTER off than we were two years ago today.
I say we organize an email, fax and phone freep of Gephardt. I'm raring to go and we don't even have to get snippy, just a nice little phone call or email. Tomorrow's Friday. That would be perfect. SOMEONE PLEASE POST THE LATEST NUMBER FOR THE CAPITOL SWITCHBOARD AND GEP'S EMAIL.

He also said that the Republicans were filibustering and holding up a vote on the bill. This imposter of a human being, so called public servant, is doing the very things that he is accusing Republicans of doing and no one has called him on it yet.
At a press conference this morning, not one person from the media would ask him specifically who among Republicans was filibustering.

Daschle is now saying that because of the lack of trust they feel, they may not pass Homeland Security or an Iraq resolution prior to going home to campaign. I was wondering why he pitched that fit. The Rats didn't want to vote so they fake hurt feelings for an excuse. How lame.

The RATS are having a real bad week, and it looks like it isn't going to get any better. These last wild eyed statements from the RAT "leadership" (i.e. lil' Albert & Tommie du Hole) are so insane and so hypocritical that Arnold Zipple (Green Achers fame) could see right through them both.
HRC is keeping her head down and so is lil Dick Gepfart. Teddy is chasing skirt and slopping down Scotch, and generally keeping his fat face out from in front of a camera. This fact leads me to believe that the worst of the commie left in among the RATS wouldn't touch this with a 10' pole. The lefties have lost it!
If this "battle plan" of the RATS is contrived, it looks like they've been taking plays right out of the Little Big Horn book of engagment. I should imagine that their internal polling is a disappointing mass of numbers. Ba Wa Wa Waaaaa!
If I was the Pres. I'd look at Tommie du Hole and, with a heavy New York accent, say....."Hey Tommie, I got you're appology RIGHT HERE"!!!!!

He can complain all her wants. The democrats have NOTHIING to campaign on- NOTHING! President Bush signed every piece of legislation put on his desk by the Senate! And now, when it matters most to the security of the United States, Tom Daschle has decided to play partisan politcs at the expense of the security of Americans.
YOU MAKE ME SICK, TOM DASCHLE!

Speaking of quotes...look what I found...you'll never guess who said the following...
"Look, we have exhausted, virtually, our diplomatic effort to get the Iraqis to comply with their own agreements and with international law. Given that, what other option is there but to force them to do so?"
None other than Senator Tom Daschle in 1998.

Daschle was commenting about how the President has not gone far enough in being conciliatory to the Democrats. Daschle is now saying that because of the lack of trust they feel, they may not pass Homeland Security or an Iraq resolution prior to going home to campaign. We should try to compare what Daschle is doing with what the Demcrats blamed the government shutdown under Clinton on. Democrats said that Newt Gingrich was willing to shut down the government because he was insulted that Bill Clinton wouldn't let him leave Air Force One through the front door, that he was relegated to having to leave through the back door.
Republicans should make Daschle's petty tirade the reason for no Homeland Security Bill and no resolution on Iraq.

They already don't want to. They're looking for any excuse they can use not to pass anything and then turn around and blame it on the President and evil republicans. If poll numbers say this has teeth, they'll use it till real americans start kicking them in the teeth on it. It's just the latest attempt at weasling their way out of a spot they'
d rather not be photographed in. It betrays their position too much.
Leave it to Democrats to sit in a war ravaged house and rather than pick up a gun and defend it, because it makes the general look good, they whine and complain that the plaster is cracking and falling from the walls and want everyone to believe we should be about fixing the broken plaster before we worry about those who are outside breaking it. Morons on parade. America seems to be well onto them and even the staunchest Dems I work with are awake now. All I've been saying for two years about what Clinton DIDN'T do for the economy at my current Job - they've awakened to and have seen the light.
Clinton did nothing to the economy but slap a saddle on Reagan's Legacy and ride it till the failure to maintain Reagan's policies brought it all crashing down. He brought
in Greenspan with a paintbrush to tweek the ailing animals looks with an interest rate percentage here and there so the beast kept looking like it was well. By the time the illusion was discovered, we didn't have a bunch of little patches anymore - we had one monstrous problem hidden behind a faltering facade. And when the facade was obliterated one could see the gangreen that had been present
for ages due to lack of actual attention. Clinton's legacy does exist - it's called fraud - slight of hand. He and the Democrats fed it to us all for 8 years of Clinton. And now when people start pointing to the cause of the problem, the democrats want to be all warm and fuzzy and say - now lets not finger point - let's solve it. I say "great, lets fire the democrats. That ought to solve it." And my work associates that voted for the Dems are saying it too. :)
That's when I start having optimism that The Pubbies have a chance to rebuild what Reagan constructed and the Democrats have tried to dispell. For them to allow the Reagan legacy to stand as it was - was to admit that the Republicans know what they're doing. They just can't do that or nobody votes for them. They'd rather lie than do what's right for the country. Serving ones country is better done by those who know what they're doing - not those who want to be there because it makes them important. Democrats don't know the difference.

I've been thinking about the poor people of South Dakota a lot. So, I wrote this letter to the Editor of the Aberdeen News. I know, it's no Barbararara Striesand, but at least it's profanity-free!
Dear Friends in South Dakota;
I'd like to sincerely extend my sympathies for the grief and abuse you must all be taking over the behaviour of your Senator Daschle.
I've been to South Dakota, mostly to the western part of your beautiful state. I've spoken to many South Dakotans and found them to be, without fail, smart, funny and courteous.
Imagine my shock when the Senator seemingly took leave of his senses, put on a pink tie and dissed the President from the floor of the Senate! I really can't understand how such a practical, honest population could be represented by such a less-than-professional man.
I beg you, for the good of your state, and the good of America, please keep him in your state when he comes home for the elections! I know there's a big mine by Lead where he could perhaps have a long speaking engagement arranged.
Now you must be wondering why someone from Michigan would care about your Senator. Well, see, there's this war going on... and a whole bunch of your fellow citizens don't feel safe anymore. I personaly would feel a little safer if our representatives at least gave the country and the world the appearance of a country that has a plan, and can work together to carry out that plan.
While Senator Daschle is worrying about political capital and encouraging partisanship (and not doing the "people's work"), the world must be laughing up their sleeve at US. And, if all they were doing was laughing, that would be okay. But we know that's not the case.
(And lest you think I'm being partisan myself, I am a registered Democrat!)
If my dog barks and annoys my neighbors, I have an obligation to make the barking stop. Please Please Please put your dog in the house!!
NOTE to FReepers: even a registered democrat can see the light and vote for the Right Guy for Prez!!!

Well and when did Tommie make the quote you are citing? Do you have a link or was it an interview, newspaper cite, Senate floor? I've not read the entire thread so maybe it has been answered....

Its all about politics with Tommy Daschund. As far as I know the President is the one who is worried about the country while Daschund would like to fiddle amidst the burning of D.C. And incidentally, the illegitimate Senate Majority Leader wants to do that with an eye to the polls.
