NBC News quoted unidentified sources Wednesday as saying U.S. intelligence had detected a suspected training camp in eastern Iran that included a rifle range very much like al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan ( news - web sites).
"There are no such camps in Iran and this news is to create psychological war and have political aims," an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
President Bush ( news - web sites) has branded Iran part of an "axis of evil," along with Iraq and North Korea ( news - web sites), for seeking weapons of mass destruction and supporting terrorism.
Iran strongly denies the charges.
Iran says it has arrested and deported 150 people with suspected links to Afghanistan's ousted Taliban government and Osama bin Laden ( news - web sites)'s al Qaeda network, blamed for the September 11 attacks in the United States.
"We have always been fighting against terrorism and we opposed al Qaeda and the Taliban from the start," the spokesman said.
"Until now neither the U.S. government, nor other countries have produced documents proving such claims."
"At which time America proves the connection we will no longer deny it. But until then, there is no cooperation with Al Qaeda."
Hmm. al-Qaeda (The Base) is Baseless in Iran.
All your baseless camps are belong to us!
