A new species is appearing more frequently in Sequoia National Park: marijuana. During the past month, park rangers and law enforcement officials have uprooted 19 marijuana gardens from the Mineral King and South Fork areas of the park. Officials disposed of more than 35,000 plants -- with an estimated street value of more than $140 million -- in an undisclosed Tulare County site.

Well that's bullshit because loosertarian's real agenda is to legalize all narcotics.

Are you saying that people who agree on a certain issue should not make common cause with those who agree with them if they disagree on any other issue?

My program is to execute those who deal hard drugs

Drug dealers now face a real imminent threat of death from competitors. If that doesn't deter them, nothing the government can do will deter them.

I'm not the one who obsesses about making sure that it is legal.

That doesn't answer my question: "What makes you think that many people want to get that stoned that often? Do YOU want to get that stoned that often?"

It's not about "deterrence," it's about "prevention."

Remember the story of the man and the starfish.

What makes people want to get stoned that often is that they are addicted to pot.

25 years ago I used to go camping up in Mineral King. What a most beautiful place. Have to believe too many folks going there have ruined it. Like everything else in Calif.

"not only is it the largest cash crop in CA. but I also heard WV, and several other states as well.
Legalize it, and save billions in tax dollars,
as well as the revenue it would collect from taxes."

SAVE billions in tax dollars. Sure. NEVER happens. just gets spent elsewhere. The only direction taxes go are up. And revenue for whom? More social engineering programs and forgeign aid that's what.

"We have had fishermen run into these folks," Fister said. "No one's been hurt so far, but they found heavy-duty weapons."

Oh yeah? Was that the shotgun, the pellet gun, or the the slingshot?

Alternate Solution.

Police can't find all marijuana plants. And even if they could, why does marijuana use deserve a non-judicial death penalty?

Have a read of the Arcata, CA police log....not only hilarious, but since Arcata is in that 'user friendly' area of northern Cal, you once in awhile get some insight as to the goofy activities of the potheads...

Also a failure. Death from a competitor certainly prevents that particular dealer from dealing again---but it hasn't stopped, or apparently even much reduced, drug dealing.

For years, the pollen count that is included in local weather forecasts had marijuana in the count. LEO pressure made them change this to "other". This wasn't just for Kalerfornia, but nation wide.

It's less addictive than caffeine. link
