You mean Daschle was foolish enough to plan that this hissy fit was seen by the media? Pre-meditated stupidity.
To: The Wizard
Thank you, FOX.

All along I just thought it was spontaneous combustion.
To: Always Right
but it took Fox news to let anyone know.......24 hours passed before the truth came out
To: The Wizard
Next I expect to see Daschle wagging his finger at us saying, "I did not have Diplomatic Relations ... with that man ... Saddam Hussein"

I have never seen such a retarded political move.
Anyone see "Faces of Death" (hey, i was a high schooler) where the dude stands in front of the press with a yellow envelope. He pulls out a gun from the envelope and proceeds to end his life...
Kinda similiar but in a political sense... HEY ALL! Look at me! "BANG!" Daschle ending his political career......

Nominated for Best Politically Dishonest Diatribe: Tom Daschle (D-SD)
To: Oldeconomybuyer
I'll second the nomination

I have a TINY bone to pick. Please consider using person's actual names and not "Dasshole" in the titles of articles, so that persons who happen across this site are not instantly turned off without reading the articles.
Not a big deal, but something to consider...Thanx.

I hope reports of his "orchestrated spontanaeity" gets in the mainstream too. But just showing video of that hissy fit will make him look like such a phoney, whiney priss to a lot of folks, I think. My wife and I laughed out loud at how contrived that performance looked. It was like watching a high school play with a boy dressed up as a middle-aged school marm, dressing down her class or something.

For the benefit of CNN, FOX, Reuters, AP and other media outlets Senate Majority Leader Tom "Pinky" Daschle makes a fool of himself on the Senate floor September 25, 2002 whining at President Bush for politicizing the debate on Iraq. Daschle demanded an apology from Bush for making the democrat party irrelevant. Photo by Reuters Tv/Reuters - Sep 25 6:02 PM ET |

OK, that explains it. I only saw a short clip from the whole "episode" and it looked to me like he was following written instructions like "raise right hand and point finger....stomp foot to emphasise..." I've seen better acting in a junior high school play.
