Distasteful as it may be, some notice should be paid to the speech that the formerly important Al Gore delivered Monday at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco.
This speech, an attack on the Bush policy on Iraq, was Gore's big effort to distinguish himself from the Democratic pack in advance of another possible presidential run. It served: It distinguished Gore, now and forever, as someone who cannot be considered a responsible aspirant to power. Politics are allowed in politics, but there are limits, and there is a pale, and Gore has now shown himself to be ignorant of those limits, and he has now placed himself beyond that pale.

Its just like Pencil Eraser IQ Algore to give a speech that flops big time!

"Gore's speech was one no minimally decent politician could have delivered. It was entirely dishonest, cheap, low. It was utterly hollow. It was bereft of policy, of solutions, of constructive ideas, very nearly of facts bereft of anything other than taunts and jibes and embarrassingly obvious lies. It was breathtakingly hypocritical, a naked political assault delivered in smarmy tones of moral condescension from a man pretending to be superior to mere politics. It was wretched. It was vile. It was contemptible. But I understate." Gee, Mr. Kelly, next time tell us how you really feel.

Not a bad analysis of Gore's treasonous comments. I love it when a leading dimocrat dives into the sewer.

The contempt with which Kelly has stated his opinion of Gore's speech has left me speechless. I hope Gore reads it.

..."Gore's speech was one no minimally decent politician could have delivered. It was entirely dishonest, cheap, low, etc....Just like every other Democrat speech in the last ten years. Usually nobody notices; this time Gore might have unwittingly stepped across the line and taken his "privelege of spouting nonsense" just a little too far. One can only hope.
What could have been going through Gore's head for him to do this? Does he plan to run on a "I speak my mind and I don't listen to handlers" platform?
This is the first time I've wondered about Gore's sanity. Even John McCain would know better than to give a speech like this. I thought the one thing Gore learned well from Clinton was to listen to pollsters and those who understand the public.
The only other thing I can think of is that Gore has some rookie pollster who told him that this would be a great way to score points with liberal Democrats. Hey, it might be at that, but since when does Gore need help getting Democratic votes?

--no, a pollster hired by Hitlery to get him out of the way for 2004!

Nothing like a bash from someone literate.

It's not Gore's fault. Al is so friggin stupid, he can't count the rings on his stump. He's a Clintonoid puppet. Those two people play everyone the same way Slick plays his interns. I hope some clever Pubbie backs a movie portraying the Clinton/Gore admninistration (if one can describe their 8 years as an "administration).

He did leave out the inane section regarding Gore's disappointment with George H.W. Bush's hasty end to Gulf War I,which Brit Hume wiped out last night by reading Gore's complete support of from the 1991 Congressional Record.

Excellent!!! The only other thing I'd like to see some focus on was the warm reception his speech got, and where it was given. (the left-coast)
