I'd like to see a Libertarian militia combat unit....About all you could do with them would be to put them up against a French unit for a relay race to see who could surrender fastest. Tough call.

Like the French, they prefer to be overrun and then whine incessantly at their occupiers in the hopes that they will leave. Tactical wizards, both of them.

I'd like to see a cogent reply pertinent to the subject at hand.

Perhaps you'd better go sleep it off first, hmmm?

You are a true believer. I on the other hand choose to believe that Pat Buchanan is a loyal Republican who took control of Ross Perot's party in order to run it into the ground and neutralize it politically -- which he did.

I don't know any "true republicans" who go on Meet The Press and proclaim that Algore won the election.

Pat did.

The Constitution demands a citizen militia to be formed.
Is this police department a member of the Socialist party or what?
If there is a militia, well done patriots!

"Apparently, peaceably advocating the Bill of Rights warrants a police investigation."

Welcome to the USSA.

released Denver Police Department "spy file" describes the Libertarian Party as a "militia" type organization.

Whew, it sure seems like the terms used to describe libertarians are all over the board. We are socialists, anarchists, hedonists, libertines, totalitarians, pacifists, fascists, militia types...............fill-in-the-blank.

OOT thing, it seems all the "anti-liberty" crowd spends an awful lot of time attacking libertarians when we don't seem to be much of a threat, according to them. Does anyone else sense an inordinate amount of concern over us??
Maybe someone doesn't want anyone to talk of liberty, real liberty.

I would settle for adherance to the CONSTITUTION. I won't be picky.
In case anyone didn't catch it, VP Cheney, ruled out any thought of declaring war against Iraq. I guess the United Nations Charter reigns supreme in his mind. Not mine!! The United States Of America FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!

A Christian libertarian,
CATO

Wonder if they did the same with the local Islamic churches.

I sure hope not. And I wouldn't vote for any party that supports police state action against any group.

One of the many reasons I support the LP.

As the laws continue to build up on the shelves like feces impacting a digestive track, the state needs ever and ever stupider agents. It used to be that a peace officer had few laws with which to torture his fellow citizen, and he had great discretion as to how he would solve any matter that came to him. This type of officer would be quickly fired today. It is no longer possible for today’s officer to explain today’s laws, let alone is he allowed to have any judgment without risking his job. Hence bullet proof vest, felony stops and a total Jack Webb by the book mentality. Naturally the more active intelligence are not attracted to this, leaving the more sorts, untroubled by massive contradictions.

Willie, I give you credit for putting what you don't know about libertarians right up front instead of pretending you know what you're talking about.

That would be racist to suspect an islamic group of anything. But the libertarian Party, now they are a threat to us all.

Most everything I know about libertarians I learned right here on Free Republic over the course of the last 4+ years.
Read their posts, followed their links.
Tried to give 'em a fair shake, but they still left a bad taste in my mouth.

Judging by the way you shake hands, it's no wonder you don't know thing one about libertarianism.

If the Republican party would include some of the ideals of Libertarians( less taxes, less govt. interference, more adherance to the original const.) they would run less of a risk of loss.
