Terrorists storm temple in Gandhinagar Agencies New Delhi, September 24

Three suspected terrorists have entered a temple in Gujarat's capital Gandhinagar and resorted to indiscriminate firing, killing at least 25 and injuring several others.

The terrorists entered the Akshardham temple belonging to the Swaminarayan sect around 1700 hours and fired at devotees.

"Seven men and women and four children are dead. Twenty-five people are injured and the injured are being taken out of the temple to Gandhinagar hospital," Inspector R B Rawal in the Gujarat state intelligence room told Reuters.

"There were over 50 people inside the temple when three gunmen opened fire inside the temple," Gujarat Home Secretary K Nitya Nandam told AFP.

State police control room spokesman G L Singhal had said earlier that four people had been killed in the shooting.

A television news channel put the toll at 6 dead and 40 injured.

According to an eyewitness, the three terrorists were wearing Army uniform and were armed with AK 47 rifles and sten guns.

A local police official said the terrorists had thrown a bomb at the temple, which is on fire.

According to initial reports, police forces have surrounded the temple and efforts are being made to evict people inside the temple. There is utter chaos in and around the temple.

A gun battle is reportedly on between the security forces and the terrorists. Commondos have reached the temple complex and the Army has also been called to deal with the situation.

The temple is close to the residence of the Gujarat Governor and Chief Minister and other VVIPs. The Gujarat State Assembly and Secretariat are within two kilometers of the temple complex.

The Gujarat government had received intelligence reports on the possibility of such an incident happening. Several VVIps visit the large temple complex daily.

Doctors in Ahmedabad have been told to report to hospitals.

We can't ban any religion, but what we can do is tap all their phones and bug every mosque because they have been making violent, pernicious, seditiious threats.

Your first thought seems to always be "how can I defend the Islamaniacs or deflect attention from their latest atrocity?"

One more time because it fits the subject.....

The Straight Scoop from Charlie Daniels ....
8/10/02

I've just returned from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba Naval Air Station base where we did three shows for the troops and toured several locations around the post visiting with some of the finest military personnel on planet earth. The kids seemed to really enjoy the shows and especially liked "This Ain't No Rag, It's A Flag" and "In America". We had a great time with them. We saw Camp X-Ray, where the Taliban detainees are being held only from a distance, but I picked up a lot of what's going on there from talking with a lot of different people.

The truth of the matter is that this operation is under a microscope. The Red Cross has an on site presence there and watches everything that goes on very closely. The media is not telling you the whole truth about what's going on over there. The truth is that these scum bags are not only being treated humanely, but they are probably better off healthwise and medically than they've ever been in their lives. They are fed well, able to take showers and receive state of the art medical care. And, have their own Moslem chaplain. I saw several of them in a field hospital ward where they were being treated in a state of the art medical facility. Now let's talk about the way they treat our people.

First of all, they have to be watched constantly. These people are committed and wanton murderers who are willing to die just to kill someone else. One of the doctors told me that when they had Taliban in the hospital the staff had to really be careful with needles, pens and anything else which could possibly be used as a weapon. They also throw their excrement and urine on the troops who are guarding them. And our guys and gals have shown great restraint in not retaliating.

We are spending over a million dollars a day maintaining and guarding these nasty killers and anyone who wants to see them brought to the U.S.A. for trial is either out of their heads or a lawyer looking for money and notoriety. Or both. I wish that the media and the Red Cross and all the rest of the people who are so worried about these criminals would realize that this is not a troop of errant Boy Scouts. These are killers of the worst kind. They don't need protection from us, we need protection from them.

If you don't get anything else out of this soapbox, please try to realize that when you see news coverage much of the time you're not getting the whole story, but an account filtered through a liberal mindset with an agenda. We have two fights on our hands, the war against terror and the one against the loudmouthed lawyers and left wing media who would sap the strength from the American public by making us believe that we're losing the war or doing something wrong in fighting it. Remember these are the same people who told us that Saddam Hussein's Republican guard was going to be an all but invincible enemy and that our smart bombs and other weapons were not really as good as the military said that they were. This, while the terrorists were gaining strength and bombing our Embassies and dragging the bodies of dead American heroes around the dusty streets of Somalia.

It's a shame that we can't have an unbiased media who would just report the truth and let us make up our own minds. Here I must commend Fox News for presenting both sides much better than the other networks. They are leaving the other cable networks in the dust. People like being told the truth. Our military not only needs but deserves our support. Let's give it to them. The next time you read a media account about the bad treatment of the Taliban in Cuba, remember what I told you. Been there done that.

Footnote: I got an e-mail from a rather irate first cousin of mine the other day who has a daughter who's a lawyer and she seemed to think that I was painting all lawyers with the same brush. Please understand that I'm not doing that at all. That would be like saying that all musicians were drug addicts. There are a lot of good and honest attorneys out there. I happen to have one of them. But it seems that they never get any airtime. It's always the radicals who get their opinions heard, who fight the idea of the military tribunals and site The Constitution and the integrity of America as their source of justifying their opinions.

Well, first of all The Constitution says "We the people of the United States", it doesn't mention any other country. And secondly as far as integrity is concerned, I don't think some of these folks would know integrity if it bit them in the posterior. What do you think? God Bless America © Charlie Daniels

P.S. send this to everyone you can..the truth needs to be told.

"Shoeless George is going to run out of fresh socks. I hope Laura knows how to darn...."

You turn a bloody Muslim terrorist attack into an opportunity to make a political attack against the American president....

You are a truly horrible and extremely offensive person.

..."Wonderbras and wonderbread aside, do you not, as a Christian, have concerns about a caste system that prevents people from realzing the gifts God gave them?...

No. In fact I would argue that people are probably more apt to realize the full depth and breadth of the gifts that God gave them in a caste system.

Most of the nonsense about "equality" stems from vulgar protestant distortions of christian belief. Further, the Hindus have the virtue of at least being openabout their caste system. America operates under one of the most sophisticated caste systems ever imagined by human-kind. But they keep it puritanically perfumed in democratic cant.

Wonderbras are an excellent example of this Yankee ingenuity. A certain type of breast is considered culturally superior. But we are tolerant and democratic and do not believe that anybody is superior to anybody else for any reason. So we market an underwear product which allows women who do not conform to the cultural ideal to invest money and effort in order to achieve a certain outward conformity with the ideal. Thereby re-enforcing the superiority of the cultural ideal.

If we really wanted to be liberated we would re-embrace medieval notions of heirarchy. It would free huge portions of the population from quiet lives of not only desperation, but terror, anxiety and self-loathing. And it might allow the natural aristocracy to bubble back up from its toils in the bowels of the advertising industry....

Are you certain this has anything to do with Muslims?

How perceptive, indeed! These massacres involve just churches and temples, don't they? Never mosques! Islam is Peace!

Oh, come on Belle. You should realize by now that actually telling the truth might offend some one and we simply must avoid that at all costs, eh?

The supreme irony will be when the Indo-Pak War starts up after weeks of escalating provacative language...
"Your nation is a refuge for religious bigots!"
"No, we love all people in our global village; you are the intolerant and exclusionary ones here!"

Even in the sterile non-speak of PC vernacular, there are still fightin' words.

What would life be without the ironies that can be detected in the dung piles fouling our wonderful world?

Pakistani Information Minister Nisar Memon condemned the temple attack and said it reflected the failure of Hindu nationalist leaders to build a tolerant society in Gujarat.

What continues to amaze me is the cynical cruelty and depravity of the Islamists. In the first go around this year, 59 Hinus were murdered bringing cheers from the Pak street. Then hundreds of Indian Muslims were predictably killed by furious Hindus(an anticipated result by the Islamists) greatly angering the Muslim street worldwide (another intended result).

These murdering b@stards at the temple know full well that many Muslims will die as a result of this awful murder and fire. The murder of Muslims is as much the desire of the Islamists as are the deaths of the Hindus.

It's not that far off, IMHO, that Radical Religionist for Peace (Islamists), would try to march up and into the Vatican from different directions and try to take that place down, too

That's been prophasized already. Maybe by Malichai(?). It will happen after the pope dies, and his successor, who denies the diety of Christ I might add, takes his place. According to this prophacy, the next pope will not live long, and the following pope will be the last. There will be no more after that.

No. I think we all suspect that the Spanish Inquisition is at the heart of these disturbing distortions of the soothing words of the Prophet.

"Is it on fire? Man...the temple was a work of art..."

That's what the earlier report said. The details coming out are REALLY conflicting. Yes, it IS a work of art.

"...You turn a bloody Muslim terrorist attack into an opportunity to make a political attack against the American president.... "

If I can't attack the American President, who can I attack?

I'd be prosecuted for hate crimes if I attacked anybody else.
