Saddam Hussein As Jesus Christ
September 19, 2002 Rob Douglas - Douglas Investigations

You know the feeling. First the sniffles start. Then a cough develops. Soon you’ve got that achy-all-over discomfort. You try to sleep. You burrow deeper under the covers. Toss. Turn. Toss some more.

It’s 3:30 in the morning. A cold rain beating down on the roof. You can feel the cold that started in your sinuses digging into your chest. Breathing is a chore. Sleep is out of the question.

Head to the couch. Pop on the T.V. Flip through the channels. Maybe the drone of some late-night talk show will dull the senses and allow sleep to overcome.

Hundreds of stations. Not one worth watching.

Flip. Flip. Flip.

Old movies. Bad movies. How to make a million with tiny classified ads. Orange cleaner. Dent popper. Where do they dream this stuff up? Who buys it?

Flip.

Jesse Jackson’s face fills the screen. He's discussing what it will take to remove Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq.

“Since he’s not gonna volunteer, it means you have to kill Hussein. In order to get to him you’re going to have to kill a lot of innocent people - to get to him. It’s reminiscent of biblical times – killing all those children to get to Jesus.”

A shake of the head. Maybe the fever has brought on delirium.

Pick up the remote again. Who ever invented the Dish Network PVR is a genius. Hit the back-up button and replay Jesse.

It’s not delirium.

Jesse Jackson believes fighting a war to oust Hussein is like King Herod and the Romans slaughtering all babies in an attempt to kill the baby Jesus.

Jesse Jackson equates Saddam Hussein to Jesus Christ.

Saddam Hussein as Jesus Christ.

I’m not making this up.

On Friday night (I caught the 3:30am Saturday morning replay) Jesse Jackson was on Black Entertainment Television (BET)Tonight with Ed Gordon. The episode was titled 9/11: What Black America Needs To Know. While it is not clear to me why “Black America” would need to know anything different than all Americans, I’ll leave that for another day.

What is important during a time when there is both a national and international debate concerning Iraq taking place is to hear well-reasoned arguments both pro and con.

Equating Saddam Hussein to Jesus Christ does not advance the debate. In fact, it may be the most shameful statement in the history of public discourse. Coming from you or me would be bad enough. Coming from a national leader with an international reputation is utterly disgraceful. Coming from a man of the cloth is beyond imagination.

Although Jackson clearly placed his statement in a religious context, it fails even if he were not talking about Jesus. Had Jackson only been equating Saddam Hussein to an infant- any infant -the attempt at moral equivalency would still be a fool’s errand.

Saddam Hussein has slaughtered, gassed, tortured, imprisoned, murdered, mutilated, and starved hundreds of thousands if not millions.

In a particularly gross form of irony consider that Jackson is equating the attempt to remove Hussein from power with the slaughter of all infants in order to kill one child, while at the same time Hussein murders and imprisons children – including toddlers.

Don’t take my word for it. Take the word of former weapons inspector Scott Ritter. After all, he is the poster child for the Iraq hand-wringers.

In an interview with Time Magazine Ritter was asked: “You’ve spoke about having seen the children’s prisons in Iraq. Can you describe what you saw there?”

Ritter replied:

“The prison in question is at the General Security Services headquarters, which was inspected by my team in Jan. 1998. It appeared to be a prison for children – toddlers up to pre-adolescents – whose only crime was to be the offspring of those who have spoken out politically against the regime of Saddam Hussein. It was a horrific scene. Actually I’m not going to describe what I saw there because what I saw was so horrible that it can be used by those who would want to promote war with Iraq, and right now I am waging peace.”

Saddam Hussein imprisons children of his political opponents. Saddam Hussein has gassed citizens of Iraq – including infants and children. Yet Jesse Jackson equates Hussein to the infant Jesus.

The appropriate analogy would obviously be that of Hussein to the Roman emperor seeking to kill the infant Jesus. After all, Hussein imprisons and kills the children of his political opponents just as the Romans sought to kill Jesus out of fear.

Yet Jesse Jackson equates Saddam Hussein with Jesus Christ.

Jesse Jackson is a fool.

Ugh, Jesse Jackson has a new low. Wonders never cease.

This comment, totally unrelated, got me -

Ritter replied:

“The prison in question is at the General Security Services headquarters, which was inspected by my team in Jan. 1998. Oh, that's real smart, Ritter. So you KNOW ABOUT THINGS that are so bad we would want to make them stop, but you won't tell us because we might try.

Anyone else besides me find absolutely no sense in that statement? Other than the fact that apparently his personal agenda is more important than exposing the horrors to which Saddam will subject babies.

I saw that quote and commented on it on another thread. My thought was, if he is going to censor information because it may lead to outcomes that he does not like, what else is he hiding from us?

Excellent point, worth repeating.

There's a common theme here. From algore, to Donahue, to Jesse to the NY Slimes, to Rosie the left is losing it! All the tired old formulas are no longer working. In times past all they had to do was to scare seniors about their SS benefits, or rail against the "rich", or prattle on about "diversity". None of that works now and people don't want to hear it. So they are left to wallow in their own ignorance and ineffectiveness, which is truly a sight to behold!

More appropriate comparison would be killing all those German civilians to get Hitler, methinks... although I never heard Jessie ever whine on that count, even though his blatant anti-Semitism makes me wonder if Jessie doesn't have the same sort of sympathies for Hitler as the Arabs selling copies of Mein Kampf...

Maybe when Jessie gets to Hell he and Hitler can sit down and have a dialogue about how best to handle the "Jewish Problem"..

"why do people still listen to Jesse?"

1. Extremely stupid
2. No other source of income, besides extortion from taxpayers.
3. America hating hyphenated blacks
4. America hating liberals
5. Like minded fornicating adulturous fools

Saddam Hussein, the poor man who has a right to be silent, to be poor, to be ignorant and who values that right for his people, notwithstanding all the megalomaniacal monkey paintings of himself throughout Iraq. Jesse's a terrorist, just like terrorists, he apes around and the goes into hiding behind his insults.

I've known what a fool JessieJay's been fer years, but the bigger A$$, IMHO, is Scott Ritter...

"In an interview with Time Magazine Ritter was asked: "You’ve spoke about having seen the children’s prisons in Iraq. Can you describe what you saw there?" Ritter replied:

"The prison in question is at the General Security Services headquarters, which was inspected by my team in Jan. 1998. Just like any typical LeftWingWhacko, hiding the Truth 'cuz it doesn't fit his Agenda...SHEEEESH!!

The most unfortunate part of this is that most of those watching BET didn't understand the allusion to Jesus Christ. Most viewers are probably only acquainted with the Name Above All Names as an epithet.

jerkson is gonna some 'splainin to do when he meets the Lord face to face.
