I sure don't recall McDermott getting all worked up when Clinton truly was lying when he bombed aspirin factories in order to get Monica off the front pages. I must have missed it.

Sent: Monday, September 16, 2002 9:57 PM Subject: FW: Saddam's announcement at 4:30 Seattle time from Congressman McDermott
Dear friends, A few minutes ago Saddam announced that weapons inspectors from the UN can return to Iraq. I met for 1.5 hours on Friday night with Naji Sabri, foreign minister of Iraq to discuss the possibility of accepting the Iraqi parliamentary offer for Congresspersons to visit Iraq and bring their own Inspectors. I told him I waqs ready to come with the UN inspectors as our inspectors.. We discussed at length the proposal and at the conclusion , he said, I think the Congress will get a surprise soon. Today's action is a major step away from war. There is plenty of time for many slips between the lip and the cup.
Minister Sabri raised a point we must consider. He said , "Why should we let the Inspectors in to Iraq when Mr Bush has already decided we need a regime change. How long with the inspectors be with us? When will there be a clean bill or is it only a matter of time before your President suggests that we are obstructing the inspectors and sending in the bombs and troops.?
It seems to me that the problem for us is how to tone down the Presidents rhetoric. I expect there will be an immediate attack on the integrity of the Iraqi offer.
peace, Jim McDermott

The last time McDermott's nasty partisan streak was on display was when he was involved with a Florida couple who had illegally recorded a private conversation between then-Speaker Newt Gingrich and several senior House Republicans. What a jerk!

McDermott is a lying Commie scumbag. He got over 80% of the vote in his primary and his district is probably the most safe for a Democrat in the country.

Yeah, LBJ spoiled for future presidents anyway, with
the Gulf of Tonkin.

A call for moral probity from a gutter-level character assassin, a cretin so low as to at least condone and outright aid, and very likely himself commit, an act he himself voted to make a felony. McDermott is scum.

</i> off I say.

The reason treasonous behavior like this continues to occur is because nobody is being punished for it.
Why a socialist imbecile congressman from Washington State can meet with enemy diplomats and plot against the President of the United States without being arrested, and his party called to answer for him, is beyond me.
Seems like the minute he meets with the enemy to work against US interests is the moment he becomes a subversive agent for a foreign government who is subject to arrest and prosecution.

I missed his being upset at the bombing of the pill factory or the Chinese embassy myself!
More of the politics over the United States from another RAT!

Yep, just about every state has those districts where Republicans don't ever stand a chance in hell of getting elected, I guess....

Hey big ern - do you know what the geographic boundaries are for his district? (It's the seventh, right?) I was trying to find them yesterday online and I came up empty.

"Actually, Maxine Waters' district in L.A. is probably safer."Politically maybe, but I sure wouldn't want to go into her district at night!
