There are some friends of mine - from the South - that regret he was not hung during the Civil War for his treatment of captured Confederates.

Guerrilla warfare is a dangerous, nasty game. Mosby was the best of the lot, but sooner or later bushwackers are liable to get hung. I am very glad the war in Virginia did not descend to Missouri rules, but it was a close thing.
