Prayers for all concerned Up here in Toronto we are supposed to have some scattered showers tonight but no tornados mentioned. I assume it will be the edge of this system.

That Circle Centre damage was unrelated to the storms. There had been a lot of rain and a drain failed allowing water to come through to the food court below. It had the tv stations all excited until one of them put their tower cam on the building and showed that the roof was still there.

A FReeper has called Miss Marple ..... she and her family are all ok but without power. Just 9 houses north of her looks like a war zone and there is also damage near her son's house but both of them are fine ...... houses undamaged. No estimate at this time when her power will be back on.

That's me.
Curious, though, because it's just about eight o'clock, and we're just getting it. Wind, rain, thunder, but nothing severe.
The kitty is not happy, however! :o)

I was downtown when it happened. Although we get some good winds here pretty often, it was still a pretty surreal day in many ways.

No major injuries anywhere, but there will be clean-ups for days. I was supposed to go build for Habitat for Humanity for tomorrow... I wonder if there's anything left to build on! =^)

As a native Indianapolisite, I can say with the utmost confidence: it takes more than a little rain and wind to stop a Hoosier.
I'm sure you agree.

Hey.....the worst is already past, so ON goes the computer!A gentle rain is now falling.......THANK You, Lord!
btw, a day without the Dose is like a day without SUNSHINE! I'll be there! :o)

This is the 4th tornado to hit Martinsville in the last 20 years, (to my knowledge). Used to live there, up on "Pumkinvine Hill" over looking the White River and Hiway 39. My house got passed over 3 times while I owned it, lost all the tree tops in the woods around me but never lost a shingle.
Anyone know what things looks like over by the Royal Motel?
To: M.K. Borders
Mostly debris from what my friends there say. The real damage was by the K-Mart and the debris blown north-east. A few overturned cars, removed trees, power lines down, and torn rooftops pretty much covers it. The worst injuries were broken ribs, a broken nose, and a punctured lung on the 6 people caught in the K-mart. All but one were released from the hospital (which is without power) within 3 hours, and were getting interviewed by Indy newscasters an hour later.
