Your welcome. I was just reading parts of her biography "The Life of" and noted what great penances she did for priests and bishops who had gone astray.
I also have the 4 volume set "The Life of Jesus Christ and Biblical Revelations."
I think my next Ven. Emmerich books will be the life of the Holy Virgin.
Ven. Emmerich was one of the greatest mystics of the Church.

Not trying to be thick, but what's wrong with the new cathedral in LA?
Ummm.... It's hideous. All concrete. My voice teacher, who's Jewish, said it looks like a medival fortress. Some of those were actually somewhat attractive. Try the sarcophugus at Chernobyl. All concrete, no pews, Stations, visible Tabernacle, kneelers, etc. It's really pagan looking and bears no resemblance to what a Catholic cathedral is supposed to.
I'm getting better at HTML, but I'm not sure on links and pictures, but in the last month, quite a few posts have been dedicated to the Roj Mahal and all it's ugliness.

"May it long stand as a memorial to what happens when man tries to be god,or just as pleasant to think about, may it stand until an earthquake causes it to tumble down. Some night when no one is in it.Now if that isn't full of faith, hope and charity.LOL! Who knows?? We'll be watching...

That's still one of my favorites.
"Lucifer, Lucifer, come up, Lucifer."
Sorry, It's Friday afternoon. Oops. And almost time to go home.

There is sure something CREEPY about that "altar." I can't put my finger on it, but it has something sinister about it.

You know, I bet you could loaf fudge on it.

Not amazing at all. $25 million buys a LOT of attention at almost ANY Catholic college.

Catholic dissidents were swept up into the rebellion. They confidently talk of "structural change," meaning to shove over the Catholic Church and build a "democratic" church where "power is shared" and doctrine is determined by "consensus" rather than by scripture and Jesus' teachings. This does not seem to describe the dissidents who frequent FR, or does it?
To: redhead
I'm sorry but they look like a witches coven.... that picture scares me.

the problem with the Catholic Church is and always has been, the shelving of the Bible. The Bible has always been an integral part of the Catholic Church! What sola scriptura churches neglect is the tradition!

Amen. What's frightening is that they were probably humble, obedient, faithful nuns. I know they were from Vietnam. I doubt they have any idea regarding the agenda they were forced to serve by being involved in the opening ceremony of the Taj Mahony. It is a disgrace, it is scandalous, it is offensive, and it is sinister. I cannot believe anyone calling themselves "Catholic" would hacve the temerity to defend the new church structure or the opening ceremony itself, as a few Catholic pundits have.

The problem with the "Jesus Movement" is and always has been their selective ignoring of Scriptures they don't like and can't explain, like John 6 ... Matthew 16 ... 1 Tm 3:15 ...Bump for the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

This does not seem to describe the dissidents who frequent FR, or does it?Surprisingly, most regular members of the Catholic Caucus are orthodox. A handful are extremely traditional, and some are even schismatic traditionalists.
I think sinkspur is our only left leaning Catholic that posts frequently, but he is solidly orthodox in most every matter I've discussed with him, but progressive or "liberal" in prudential matters. If the "worst" of Catholicism was represented by sink, we'd have a pretty healthy Church. (That's a compliment, sink ;-)
I think we are blessed in that we really do not have any regular Catholic posters who are truly heterodox or dissident in their worldview regarding Catholicism.

"In those days, Faith will fall very low, and it will be preserved in some places only, in a few cottages and in a few families which God has protected from disasters and wars." Praying that each one of us may be a safe harbor to those looking for the way to Jesus Christ. May God have mercy and cause the sound Bishops to multiply.

I saw that many pastors allowed themselves to be taken up with the ideas that were dangerous to the Church. They were building a great, strange, and extravagant Church. Everyone was to be admitted in it in order to be united and have equal rights: Evangelicals, Catholics, sects of every description. Such was to be the new Church....But God had other designs." One world religion. Isn't this phenomenon to be a precursor of the Last Days?
To: Polycarp
It is a great article.
Thanks for the ping.
