Wow! That's a beautiful rose. It deserves the grand name "American Dream." Thanks. That rose was planted in honor of a dear friend's birthday, so it has special meaning to me. :-)

Hi Pippin. Nope, it was just part of a travelling carnival that was set up in downtown Waco last April for the Brazos River Festival.

the willow at the lake near the edge of the desert. There is a pump station there now, but the magic still works!

Hairstreak butterflies have a second set of "antennae" at the ends of their tail wings.

I see you are in Waco.. We have a ranch in Marlin, 33 miles
south or so.. it's leased out now, but darned pretty!

Really? I was near Marlin on a drive in the country this morning. I went to Falls County. There's a dead little town there called Cego - I took this picture of a collapsed building next to the cemetery.

Another tiny hasbeen town in Falls County is Satin, Texas.
I love taking pictures at places like that.

Cross the Brazos and look to your right!
