Is there some reason that every time some extreme leftist spouts off that every poster on FR has to slander the leftist's entire nation? I expect there are plenty of Germans who disagree with her. It's the same as judging the entire United States by something Tom Daschle says.

No it isn't. Tom Daschle doesn't run the government. And if he DID say something like this, the Administration would nail him on it. The Schroeder government appears to be SUPPORTING it.

Well, between her comments, Shroeder's comments, and their refusal to help in some instances in our war against terrorism and Iraq is enough for me. If you don't see the writing on the wall that's your problem. As far as not representing the people...so what. Do you think the average Iraqi supports Saddam? Does that mean we shouldn't go to war against Iraq?

I'm not going to slam them. I know that there must be ordinary Germans in there who don't agree with her. Another reason is simply that my great-grandparents came from there before the turn of the 20th century. My dad, some uncles and cousins and friends went there with the military.

This is the same with France, as perplexing and maddening the French leaders can sometimes be. I can't slam the French as a whole; because some of my relatives came from the southern regions of France. Also, some French helped us in our War for Independence.
