The guy was only joking, and anyone who does not believe that is a racist, even though Islam is not a race.

How can any lawyer defend this slime?

After the proceeding, several Yemenites scoffed at the evidence, telling The Buffalo News they believe more strongly than ever that the six Lackawanna men are innocent. Well, the FBI was tipped off by someone in the perps' own backyard, and they indicate the tipsters were Muslims (according to National Review). So I guess not ALL Yemenis think they're innocent....

Hochul said one defendant - Shafal A. Mosed, who claims to be too poor to pay for a lawyer - recently blew $89,000 at Casino Niagara. Another $6,400 cash, Hochul said, was found in a coat pocket during a weekend search of Mosed's home. Taher, who also claims to have little money, exchanged $15,700 in U.S. currency for Canadian
Well these fellows are getting cash from somewhere, thats for sure. World travel, seminarsby wanted terrorists, fun at camp. All this and still some change left over to gamble, and walking around money in the coat.

I know Ill get flamed for this but.......
This is the reason we need to be finding out about these guys from a neighbor who reports a stench in the next apartment, and the local police find 6 blotted bodies with entry holes behind their ears
The terrorist manual tells these pukes to bind up the legal process. There is no doubt in my mind that the three in Florida were either testing the waters, creating a situation in which a citizen gets sued for blowing the whistle, thus making everyone else a bit hesitant to call the authorities, or were in a bungled attempt to transport explosives somewhere, and dumped them in the middle of the night in the Everglades.
The way this is evolving it sure looks like these guys are going to walk. It will dilute our attempt to route out the sleeper cells. We cant prosecute em till they commit a crime, then they will be among the outer body parts.
They are the enemy , killem where and when you find em of we lose !!!....And don't hand me "that will just make us as bad as them" crap

"The next meal will be very huge," Mukhtar al-Bakri wrote in the July 18 computer message. "No one will be able to withstand it, except those with faith."
Very sobering- nukes?

"The next meal will be very huge," Mukhtar al-Bakri wrote in the July 18 computer message. "No one will be able to withstand it, except those with faith." This doesn't sound like an attack on a crowded building (i.e., conventional explosives)to me. This sounds more like WMD

Hochul also alleged that some of the suspects seem to have secret sources of funding. Hochul said one defendant - Shafal A. Mosed, who claims to be too poor to pay for a lawyer - recently blew $89,000 at Casino Niagara. Another $6,400 cash, Hochul said, was found in a coat pocket during a weekend search of Mosed's home. The prosecutor added that Taher, who also claims to have little money, exchanged $15,700 in U.S. currency for Canadian in October at the same Niagara Falls, Ont., casino.
Holy crap! Follow the money.......

"..Al-Bakri was quoted as telling agents he "considered himself a member of al-Qaida" while he was at the camp, but not after his return to Lackawanna.."He must have forgotten the secret handshake.

"Mere attendance at a camp," the lawyers argued, "is not enough." Maybe not, but conspiracy is. Being part of a "sleeper cell" of trained terrorists awaiting orders is conspiracy to commit treason and mass murder.
See here's the situation. We got 6, 5 of whom are American citizens, and they have been actively involved as members of a hostile power (even though it's not a state, it's a hostile power). Since returning from Afghanistan, if they have so much as talked to each other about what they planned to do, they have committed conspiracy. And furtherance of that conspiracy is definitely providing "aid and comfort to an enemy".
So they go in there and tell them: We understand you went to the camps in two groups of 3 each. We are going to give one man from each group the opportunity to avoid the death penalty for treason, by cooperating with us and ratting out your friends. The other four are going to die, sure as the sun will come up tomorrow. We have not decided whom among you will be given this privelege, but we will keep you separately, and will be glad to talk to any of you who would like to talk to us.
The alternative is that we will convict you based on the evidence we have already amassed from confiscating your computers and information provided from others, and you will all get a ride on Old Sparky.

"The case sounds thin to me," said William Clauss, a federal public defender who represents Yahya A. Goba. Is it just me, or does anyone else think someone somewhere is just making these names up?

Federal prosecutors believe a Lackawanna man was writing about an impending terrorist attack on Americans when he sent an e-mail titled "The Big Meal" to a local friend two months ago. "The next meal will be very huge," Mukhtar al-Bakri wrote in the July 18 computer message. "No one will be able to withstand it, except those with faith."
The thought just crossed my mind that these crypto-terrorists may be talking about an attack on Thanksgiving Day. They are big on symbolism.
